Chapter 16: When Young Love Never Dies

Melina made the bed on the guest room for Pauline. "I can sleep on th couch too. You don't have to make the bed for me." Pauline said leaning on the doorstep as she was looking at Melina. "Hello? You're prengant, remember? There's no way i'll let you sleep on the couch. Plus, we have this room." Melina answered and fixed all the details on the bed. "It's ready! You can go to sleep any time." Melina said. "Thank you." Pauline answered and left the room.

Walking back tot he kitchen Pauline went straight to the fridge. "Suriously now? It's the third time you eat in 5 hours!" Melina said from the living room. "I know. These guys are hungry. Do you have any ice cream?'" she asked looking to the fridge. "In the middle of April? You know that my throat is sensitive." "Oh yeah sorry, i forgot. So, this means we're going to the supermarket tommorow." Pauline answered and pulled out of the fridge a bottle of milk. She pured herself a glass of milk. "You want some?" "Yes, please. Thank you." Melina answered as she was flippng throought the channels.

Pauline ruturned with the glasses of water. She passed the one to Melina and sut next to her. "What are your plans, Pauline?" Melina asked. "Well, first fix the house. Then find a job. These are my plans." "You're not going back to Jersey?" "Yeah, to see my family. One day i'll go back... for a visit." Pauline answered and drunk a sip of her milk. "What about Jesse and the kids? They need to know who their father is." "They will i promise, okay? I don't know when but they will. Oh speaking of which i mist go to a gynecologist to make an ultrasound." Pauline said. "When was the last one?" "About one month ago." "And you say this now?" Melina asked.

"Yeah, i can go to yours. We might know the sex of the babies." "And if you know, you'll tell Jesse?" she asked looking at her with the corner of her eye. Pauline stood up with the glass in her hand. "Maybe." she answered and walked away. Pauline entered the guest room and sut on the bed. She left the glass of milk next to her on the night stand. She lyied down. She was very tiried, emotionaly and physicly.

She closed her eyes and imagine how her life will be if she was with Jesse on their house, together. They will sit together on the couch watching a movie right now. But this will not happen, especialoly with the Atlantic Ocean between them. She had never said that she missed him. She missed him walking around the house. She never admit that with every it pass she missed him even more. But this has to stop. He was the one who choose the future if them as a family. He must pay for his chooses.

Ava walked in a small cafe in the NYC. She ordered a milkshake and waited. A few minutes later he walked in the cafe. He found Ava and walk to her side. Ava saw him coming. He sut opposite from her. "What's the problem Ava?" Mike asked her. "Pauline is the problem." she get right to the point. "What happend to her? Is she okay?" Mike asked upset. Even though he was miles away he never stop carrying about her. Pauline was the best friend he ever had. "She's in Greece." Ava answered. "On vacation with Jesse?" "No, he cheated on her with Jennifer." Mike froze as he heard those words. 

"That bastard! I'll kill him. Where is he now?" Mike answered angrily. "On his parents house. Mr T kicked his ass and told him to get out of the house." she explained. "But how did he found out?" "Since Pauline left none knew where she was until Zeta found her on Atlantic City. Zeta called me and Mr T heard us talking.... you know the rest." Ava said and drunk a sip of her milkshake. "And now she's gone." Mike added.

"That's why i called you, Mike. You're the only one who can make her come back to Jersey." Ava almost begged him while she was looking him in the eye. "Do you really think that she want to come back? She loved him with every breathe she take and that asshole make it up for her perfectly. You should leave her alone, Ava. She's old enough to make her choises. Maybe did you crossed that line?" Mike asked her.

"All that i wanted was her to be back with Jesse and where she belong." "How many times she you called her, or texted her? How many times did you see her? She's hurted Ava. She needs space and time. She lost the ground under her feet. She has two kids to grow up, for God's shake! You should leave her alone for a while." Mike said and stood up. "Oh and tell that son a bitch if i saw i'll be the last person he'll see." he added and walked out of the cafe.

Ava was left alone on the cafe. It didn't even crossed her mind what Mike said. He was right. After what happend she was all the time on her back. First Ava found her, and she doesn't want to be found. And then she tryied to change her mind and leave it all behind. Now, she was sure, Mike was right.

Pauline woke up this morning on the other side of the world. That feeling was strange but it felt so good. She stood and dressed up. A few minutes later she walked in the kitchen and saw her bestie Melina washing the diches. "Good morning sleepy head! You never stop that, didn't you?" she asked. "Stop what?" Pauline asked puzzled as she pured herself a glass of milk. "Waking up that late." "Somethings never change, babe." she answered and shut on the kitchen table.

Melina finished with the dishes and shut next to her. "So, what's up for today? I have a day off and the day after that has Peter." "You told him about me?" "No details. He really wats to help you. You should take him with you." Melina told her. "Okay. First we need to go and see the house. It's been locked up for 5 years now. At least it has all the ferniture." "That's a good start. I'll go get dressed and we're ready to go." Melina said and stood up.

Just moments later they were standing outside of Pauline's house. Memories flashed back to her mind like a movie. She missed that house more that she exepted. "I think we need to go inside." Melina said from behind. "Yeah, let's go." Pauline answered and open the first door. After climbing some stairs they arrived at the main door. Pauline opened the door of the house and with Melina walked in.

It was so dark and cold, it has nothing to do when Pauline saw it for the last time. She and Melina opened all the doors and windows and fresh air filled the house. "That's better." Melina said. "Let's go check the rest of the house." Pauline suggested. They checked all the three bedroom and the two bathrooms. Even Pauline was gone for almost a decate, it felt home to her.

"It's a little dusty, but it will be a great house again." Melina said as she looked on the dusty rooms. "Yeah, it will be. Do you know any cleaning servise around here? There's no way we can clean this up." "Mmm, i have something in my mind and you might remember him too." Melina said. "Remember him? That will be fun." "I'll give you the adress and the number but you must go alone." "No problem." Melina looked at her. "What?" "Nothing. I just wish i could film this." "Anyway, can we leave now? I'm colding my ass off and i'm hurngry." Pauline said and walk to the door. "You coming?" Pauline yelled from the door. "Yeah!" Melina answered and both left the house.

Later that day it was time for Louis to go on his everyday walk. He get used to the new house and new country much faster than Pauline. Pauline saw him standing next to the door looking at her in the eye. "Alright, buddy. Just a quick one, okay?" Pauline said and stood up. After she informed Melina about her walk with Louis both her and the dog left the aparment. Melina doesn't want her walking alone on the city. She was afraid that something will happen to her and she couldn't help herself. But she knew how stuborn Pauline can be sometimes, so she let her go alone.

Not much had changed since the last she visited the town. All that she can remember was here. She missed in a way this town. After 20 minutes of walking these little guys inside got tiried and hungry so was Pauline. She found her favourite cafe and walked in with Louis. She ordered a crepe with some ice cream. A few tables away from her a man was sitting reading a newspaper.

Pauline didn't like the fact that he was starring at her, even Louis was looking at him with his version of the stink eye. Pauline forgot all these when her crepe arrived. It was delicious.She sut on the cafe almost an hour. It was already dark outside. Pauline was about to call Melina to come and picked her up when that man walked closer to her. "Pauline? Pauline Timson?" the man asked looking down to her. Pauline faced him in the eye and something changed inside her. "Yeah, that's me. And you are?" "I'm George. We were in the same class on the whole Junior High." George said. Pauline studied his face and she realized that it had more. "And we dated each other for three years." Pauline answered shaking her head.

"Yeah, can i sit?" George asked. "I loved to but i have to go back home." Pauline said stood up. "I can drive you there, if you want." he said with that chocolat brown eyes all over her. It was that moment when she let herself free for a while. "Yeah." he smiled, that gorgeous smile which made Pauline fall in love with him all those years back. "So, are you staying in your house?" George asked when the left the cafe. "Not yet. I'm staying in Melina's. You remember her, right?" "I remember all about you." he looked her in the eye like they did 15 years ago. It felt the same thing.

He took a step forward. The only thing between them was Pauline's belly. He smiled and looked down to her belly. He opened the door for her and for Louis on the backseat. George sut on the driver's seat and drove away. "How are you doing? I mean with the twins." he asked at some point. Pauline raised her eyebrown. "How do you know that?" "I know what is going on on the volleyball world. I'm really very happy for you. Jesse seems a good guy." George said the name. The name that Pauline was putting so much effort to forget. She tried hard to be calm and she did. "Can you go a little faster, please?" she asked him. George looked at her with the corner of his eye and hit the gaze a little more.

George stopped outside of Melina's building. "Look, i'm sorry of what i said before. I had no idea." "What are you talking about?" she asked back. "I didn't know she hurted you. If i knew i will never had bring the subject on." he said looking her in the eye. "How do you know?" she asked lost in his eyes. "I saw how you reacted when i said his name. Pauline i'm not stupid, i know you're when you're hurted. I'm sorry about that." "Yeah, me too." "We can go for a coffee or something one day. Here's in my card with my phone number." George said and gave her the card. "Yeah, we can do that. And thanks for the ride home." Pauline said and opened the car door.

Once both her and Louis were out she waved back at George. She saw him driving away and walked in the building.

Chapter 15: Wanted Dead Or Alive

Pauline walked up on her room. She was so upset that she didn't use the elevator. Once she arrived at her room she sut on the couch. Louis was sleeping. She buried her head in her hands. She was upset with everyone. She didn't want to be found. And that was exuactly what happend. If she wanted to be found she had left a note.

All that she wanted right now was to be alone. Her whole life turned upside down in just one night. She had a lot of things to think about. She has two unborn children to take care of. All that she'll do next are around them. After what happend with Jesse she's not sure if she would ever forgive him. But in the same time he'll have every right to see the childern. They are his too. He will have very right to see them.

But she couldn't do this anymore. She was found and that was the last thing she wanted to be. She was desperate. Just like the thought she had, which doesn't seem so desperate on her mind. She stood up and took her phone.She called the number. "Hello, Internatiol Airport JFK. How can i help you?" the woman on the other sie of the phone asked. "I want a ticket to Athens, Greece as soon as is possible." Pauline said feeling now sure of what she's going to do.

Ava left the hotel after her meeting with Pauline. It wasn't what she had in mind. It was just the opposite. As she was driving back home she had second thoughts of what she did. Maybe she shouldn't had looked for her on the first place. She knew she was haivng a hard time. All that Ava wanted was to help her get through of what happend to her. She hated to see her in a mess, and she was in a mess. 

Even though Jesse was the last person she wanted to talk, she has to tell him that she's fine. After a few more minutes driving she pulled to the house. As she got closer to the door she realized that the door was open. That was weird. She walked in the house and closed the door behind her. "Jesse!" she yelled as she was looking around to the living room and kitchen. But still she had no clue where Jesse is. 

Once she checked the first floor and walked up the stairs to the second floor. On the end of the hallway sje was the lights on of their bedroom. She walked there and stood both door as she saw Jesse sitting on her side of the bed holding a frame of her ans him together. He was crying.

Ava walked in the bedroom and sut next to him. Jesse rolled his eyes as he saw Ava sitting next to him. Quickly he wipped his tears with his hand. "What are you doing here?" he asked. "I came to tell you that i know where Pauline is." Ava answered. "Where is she? Is she and the kids alright?" "They are all fine. But i can't tell you where she is." Ava said. "She doesn't want to see me right?" he asked looking down to his feet. "I think she doesn't want to see any of us right now... She's hurted Jesse. YOU hurt her and make her this way. You should search for wedding locations and wedding dresses right now... I'm so sorry to say this but i shouldn't be here." Ava said and stood up.

"You shouldn't had done this Jesse. I'm sure you'll pay for this in your whole life." she said and walked away. "What do you mean?" Ava heard Jesse's voise from behind. "I mean that i'm sot sure if you will ever see your kids..." Jesse stood up. He was pissed. "What do you mean i will ever see my kids? They are mine kids too! She has no right to do that." Jesse said in front of Ava. "She'll tell them that their dad is dead."

Jesse looked up at her once she finished her setence. Tears filled his eyes as he covered his head with his hands. He sut on the bed heivy. Ava couldn't do anything but sitting down with him for a few minutes. He never stop crying. "M-Maybe her father is right." he paused and shallowed. "I should go to live with my parents. I can't live here anymore. I see her everywhere i go. I smell her perfume all over the place. I open the closet and her clothes are not there. I can't live like this Ava." Jesse said as he wipped off his tears.

"Her father?" "Yeah, he came here earlier this morning. I'll pack my things. I can't sleep one more night to our bed cause i always end up on her side... on her empty side." he said. "Can you do this by yourself? Can i help you with anything?" Ava suggested. "No, i'm fine. Go home. Have some rest. You've done enough." Jesse said with his hand on her showlder. Ava stood up. "Okay, if you need anything give me a call." "I will." were the last words she heard from him.

Ava closed the door and walked away of the house. On this she's with Pauline. She has every right to be mad at him. But she has no right to tell her kids that their father is dead. Now, even after 10 days she can't believe what happend. Ava knew them since their first day together. She was there to all the roller coaster ride. She knew that deep down , despite all the first, there's love.

She hit the brake hard and the car stopped. She had already take the road back home but her heart wanted her to somewhere else. Her heart wanted to be in Atlantic City and that's where she was going.

The 15 weeks pregnant Ava arrived at the hotel Pauline was staying She walked to the lobby and asked the woman on the front desk. "Hello, i want to see Mrs Timson." "I'm sorry but Mrs Timson  is not here." the woman replied. "Oh okay. Where can i wait her?" Ava asked. "You don't understand Mrs Timson checked out 3 hours ago..." the woman on the front desk said. Ava's eyes rolled as she heard the woman speak. "Did she ay where she was going?" "She said it's time to go home." the disapointement was all over Ava's face. Not just because she left. Because once she fund her, she lost her forever.

She walked out of the hotel. She closed the door of the car. She was trying hard to understand where Pauline was going. She was not going back to her parents because she must explain everything to them. Ava was thinking and then it hit her hard just like a comit. She pulled out her phone from her purse and called her.

Pauline just take her seat on the plane back home. Throughout the years she was in USA only 2 times she went to Greece. This is the last one with no coming back. She was sure of what she was doing. She'll start fresh away from everyone and everything. She was looking forward to her new life in Greece. She knows that the kids will love it.

The kids. She've never thought that she'll spend the rest of her pregnancy away from Jersey. She've never thought that they'll come to this point. If she thinks about it, she will lost her mind and that's the last thing she wants right now.

With her thoughts on a mess she heard her phone ringing. She checked the ID and turned it off. She wasn't on the mood of talking, especially with Ava. She knew what she'll say about it. She was on the begging of a new life and she doesn't want nothing to change her mind.

She was watching out of the window the plane to take off. It was a feeling that she've never felt before. A part of her will always worry about Jesse. He was her everything and will always be. He's the father of her children. She will love him with all her heart but she will never forgive him. She knows that she said things in the heat of the moment, she has regret all of them. She will never stop carrying for him.

Pauline put the suitcases on the elavator. She and Louis had a small ride to the fifth floor. Once they arrived there Pauline pulled the suitcases out and run the bell. A few seconds later the door opened by her best friend Melina. Melina rolled her eyes when she saw her face to face. "What the Hell are you doing here?" Melina asked and Pauline walked in the house followed by Louis. Melina's jaw fell as she saw all the suitcases out there as long as Louis. "What are all these?" "They called them suitcases years now. Could you please bring them in? I'm like a body..." she said and sut on the couch.

Melina brought in the suitcases and sut next to her on the couch. "Okay, something is not right here. Why are you, Louis and all of your suitcases here?" Melina asked. "Well, we all the four of us are moving back here..." she said and Melina smiled. "Really? It's so cool. We can live like the years we're together. Where's Jesse?" Melina said exited. She had missed her best friend all those years. 

"Jesse is in Jersey. When i saw the four of us i mean me, the kids and Louis." Pauline answered and looked away. In front of the couch was the big balcony. She was starring out nothing in particular. Melina knew that look. Something is really happend. "Okay, now tell me what is going on..." "He cheated on me with Jennifer." she said. It was the first time she said it out loud.

"He did what? With Jennifer? How do you know?" Melina said and stood up. She was walking up and down to the living room. "The next morning a CD came to the house. You'll guess what the CD was about." Pauline said from the couch. She was calm even though she wanted to tire up the intire house. "No, i can't believe this!!!" Melina siad as she never stop walking. "Could you please stop walking? You make me duzzy." "Oh yeah sorry." Melina said and stopped.

"What about now?" she asked as she sut down again next to Pauline. "I'm staying to my house here." Pauline said. "I think it's a mess. You can't live there. Look, until the house is ready you and Louis are staying here. In a few days will start fixing the house. We'll call the girls and their men will help." Melina said touching her knee. "What about Petros? Will he has a problem of me staying here?" she asked looking her in the eye. "Don't say that ever again. Is my house too. And when i'm saying to stay here, you stay here." Pauline hugged her close. Even with her belly between them it was a hug which should had been done. "Let's take you suitcases to your room." Melina said and stood up. Pauline followed her.

Back on Jersey Ava was now sure where Pauline was going. She left without saying a single thing. It was pointless trying to reach her. She pulled her phone and called the number she should had called sooner. "Hey, it's me. We need to meet. We have a problem."

Chapter 14: No Matter Where You Try To Hide, Always Gonna Find Me

Ava sut on the couch of her house. She was alone, Alex was out doing some shopping for the house. It's only been half an hour since she got home from Jesse's. To all the ride back home she was trying to prosess what happend. Pauline will be mad for two lifetimes. She doesn't blame her, if she was her she'll propably done the same thing.

She was afraid that she'll never come back. She couldn't leave without saying goodbye. Ava knew that this between Jesse and Pauline but she has to find her, she must find her. She doesn't even want to think about it if she'll leave the country and go back to where she came from, Greece. She must find her now. She took the phone in her hands and called her.

Meanwhile in Atlantic City Pauline was cooking some pasta. Louis was sitting on his spot in the couch. The TV was on the MTV channel. She was listening to music while her phone rung. Walking on the table she turned down the volume and looked on the ID. Ava was calling her. After wipping off her hands on the wapron she answered it.

"Hey, girl!!" Pauline asked her without even think that ava knew. "Hey, where are you?" Pauline froze. She should had guessed that she'll ask that question. She wanted to tell her but she wanted herself to undertsand first. "I'm home. Where are you?" Ava looked down to her feet. She knew she'll lie. "Pauline there's no need to lie to me. I know everything." Ava couldn't keep it to herself anymore. "Oh..." she said and tried to hold the upcoming tears. "You know. Did he called you?" she asked.

"No, he didn't. I passed from your house and i found him alone. Look, you need to tell me where you are." Ava told her. "Yeah? So, you can tell him where i am? I'm sorry cause that is not gonna happen." Pauline answered. "You don't need to come back for him or me. Just for the kids you're carrying, Pauline. Just for them. And you might don't tell me but i'll search every hotel and motel in the whole state and all over the country. I will find you for your own and your kids shake." Ava said and hung up the phone leaving Pauline frozen on the other line of the phone.

She closed her eyes slowly and sut back on the couch next to Louis. She looked down to her belly. It was getting bigger and bigger by every day. She covered it with her hands as she said. "We're gonna make it, okay? Even without your daddy." She stared crying. She never wanted this to happen. All that she ever wanted was a healthy family where her kids can grow up. She was sad and mad in the same time because her kids will grow up without their father. And that's what it hurts the most.

Sudenly the atmposhaire was getting hievier and is was Louis's walk time after all. She laughed when he saw him standing next to the door. "Alright buddy. Let's go for a walk." she tried to get all the strenght was left and tried to forget about her problems for a while.

With Louis walking next to her Pauline left the hotel. It wasn't that crouded as she thought it was be. Maybe it was because it's late March and none is coming to Atlantic City on March. Being a beach lover she couldn't resist putting her toes on the sand. It was a little cold but she was very well dressed. Louis was running around as they walked together. He seemed more happy than she was at the point.

She was walking next to the sea holding her shoes. She loved that breeze and feel of sand in your toes. Even at this period of the year the sea was beautiful. Pauline looked up at the sun set. That means she needs to go back on the hotel. When she spotted Louis she yelled. "Louis boy come over here!" Louis heard her and run to her in no time.

Together they took their way back to the hotel. Pauline was still barefoot and she needed to put her shoes on. She found a bench and sut. After wearing her shoes, she was feeling more tiried that she thought she will be. Maybe it was from the twins. Maybe because she didn't ate lunch. Maybe because she walked more than the usual. She thought it will be nice to rest for a a while. She pulled out her phone and phoneheads. It was the best place to listen to music and just forget about everything.

After listening to the first song Louis stood up and run on the left. She paused the music and looked on her felt. She stood up and asked her only sister. "What are you doing here?" "I was about to asked you the same question. What are you doing here in the middle of nowhere?" Zeta answered back. "I'm asking the questions here, you just answer them." Pauline answered agrressivly. "Justin's working and living here remember? I came to see him and i saw Louis and then you. I answered your question. So, how did you nd up here?" Zeta asked as they sut down on the bench.

"I-I was taking Louis out and i didn't know how i drove here." Pauline could feel how awkward that sounded. "Oh! It's nice here. How Jesse is doing?" "Jesse's fine." Pauline answered and looked away. "Everything okay?" Zeta asked. "Yeah, everything's fine." Pauline answered looking to the beach. "You know that you can talk to me for everything. You know that right?" Zeta said with a voise full of compassion for her only sister. Pauline looked at her and smiled. "Yes, i know that and i appreciate that. But there's nothing to worry about." she answered and stood up from the bench.

"Is getting gold. I'll go back to the house." "Yeah, i should propably get going too." Zeta said and stood up too. "Well, it was nice seeing you here." Pauline said. "Yes, it was. You know one day Justin and i will pay you guys a visit. I've find some super clothes for my nephews. You don't know the sex yet?" Zeta asked. "Not yet. But as soon as we find out we'll tell you guys." "The clothes matches to both sexes. So, no problem with that." Zeta said and laughed. "Great. Then see you around sis." Pauline said. It was very obvious that she hated being here.

"Take care, Pauline." Zeta said as both sister walked away from each other. Pauline and Louis were walking back to the hotel. She was walking so fast. She wanted to go to the room as soon as possible. She has no problem with her sister in gereral basis but right now she wanted to left alone. And for her suprise only one person accepted that, Jesse. He knew her well enough to know where he must back off and let her alone.

But in his case that doesn't mean anything. He chated on her and that will never change. No matter how many years will pass it will always hurt like it hurts now. With her thoughts on a mess in her head she arrived at the hotel. Louis took his sp-ot on the couch while Pauline took off her jacket. She looked on the kitchen and felt hungry. She didn't eat since breakfast. And now it's late afteroon. She took a plate from the cupboard and sut on the table and ate.

Zeta walked in the house. The living room and kitchen were empty. She pulled her phone and called Ava. "Hey, it's me." Zeta said as soon as Ava picked up the phone. "Did you find her?" "Yes, i did. She's staying on Atlantic Palace in Atlantic City." "In Atlantcic City? How did she end up there?" "I have no idea." Zeta answered. "Okay, Zeta thanks." "I still can't believe what that asshole did." Zeta said and sut down. "He cheated on her with that bitch, again? Howmuch do you think she can handle, Ava? She's hurted, that's why she left and personally i don't think she'll come back. That was it." Zeta added.

"But what about the kids?" "The kids will be fine even without their father. She'll be a great single mother. Plus, she'll have us to help her. You better tell Jesse not to bother her again. He had hurt her some many times on their time together. That was the top." Zeta said as she head from behind a book to hit the floor. She turned and saw her father with eyes wide open. "Look, Ava i have to go. Bye!" Zeta said and hung up the phone.

"Dad, this is not what you think." she said and walked closer to her father. "Did he cheated on her?" he asked as much calm as he coould. "Who cheated on who?" "I'll ask one more time. Did Jesse chated on Pauline yes or no?" he asked and he could feel his temper loading.  Zeta looked down to her feet and nodded her head. But when she looked up it was too late her father was already gone. She run behind him and grabbed him. "Where are you going?" she yelled. "To learn this bastard a lesson." Kostas said and got in the car. Zeta whispered a little curse as she saw him walking away.

Jesse was sitting on the couch on the spot she sut the last time. Several empty beer bottle were his best friends since Pauline left him. Since she left him he was alone on the house they planned to be together. He deserves everything that is happening to him the last 4 days. He knew in the first place it was a bad idea to go to Jennifer's apatrement. Now, he's paying the price of his actions.

The silience broke by a machive knock on the door. Jesse's eyes open wide as he run to open the door. As he answered  he faced the angry face of Pauline's father. He was very quick and grabbed his shirt and put him on the wall behind. Jesse's back hit hard the wall as Kostas started. "I warned you son of a bitch. If you ever hurt again my daughter you'll not live. And you didn't keep that promise you gave me, didn't you?"

Jesse wasn't able to speak. All he could do was nodd. "She's alone... and no one knows where she is. She has two kids to raise you bastard. And this is your thank? After all that you put her through? I don't want my grandichilder to have afather like you. You better pack your things and leave this house. Don't ever look for her. Don't ever try to call or see her. I have people watching on you, boy. As far for the kids i'll let them know that their father is dead." Kostas said and let Jesse's feet touch the wooden floor.

Ava pulled on the hotel's driveway. After she parked the car she walked in the lobby. "Hello how can i help you?" the woman asked Ava. "I'm looking for Pauline Timson, is she staying here?" "One minute please..." she said and start typing on the computer. Then she looked up in Ava and said. "Yes." "Do you know where i can find her?" Ava asked. "She's on the pool area. Is right back there." the woman on the front desk saod pointing the pool from behind the glass. "Thank you very much." Ava said and walked away.

Ava walked on the pool area and found Pauline sitting on a chair next to the pool reading the book she bought her. She smiled and walked closer to her. "Hey..." Ava said and Pauline turned to see her. Of her suprised she rolled her eyes. "What are you doing here? How did you find me?" Pauline asked as she closed the book. "Who cares?" Ava said as she sut on the chair opposite from her. "Are you okay?" "I've been better." she answered and looked away.

"Hey, look i'm not here to make you come back or forgive him for what he did." Ava said. "Good, cause that it's not gonna happen." "We're just worried about you, Pauline. For you and your kids." "Thank you for your concern but we're fine." Pauline said and stood up. "Where are you going, Pauline? I thought we could talk for a while." " But i don't. You should go back home before Alex start to worry about you. We can live without him. Is gonna be hard but i'm willing to take that risk for my childern." she paused.

"Tell him i'm not gonna do an abortion. They'll live knowing that their father is dead. He died when he lost his faith to me and to us." these were her last words. She left Ava alone. Maybe it wasn't a good idea coming to see her. Or looking for her on the first place. She wanted to be alone. Her whole life changed as a matter of seconds. Ava knew that she'll make it through with or without Jesse. She's much stronger than everybody thinks.

Chapter 13: Starring At Your Window With A Suitace In My Hand

The next afternoon Pauline was doing some housekeeping while Jesse was on the trainning. He didn't take him so long to come home. At least as long as Pauline expecting him to be out. When he returned from his night out he found Pauline sound sleeping on the bed and lyied next to her.

She had the TV on while she was mopping the floor on the kitchen. She was there when the bell rung. Not at all suprised she turned off the TV and went to answer the door. She thought that ity will be family but it wasn't. She just saw a courier guy. "Miss Timson?" he asked. "Yes, that's me" Pauline answered. "This is for you." he siad and hung her over a CD case with a CD on the inside. "Could you please sighed this?" the courier guy asked and gave her a pen. "From who is that?" "I'm sorry but it's privete." the guy said as Pauline Pauline sighed. "Okay, thank you. Have a nice day." the guy said while Pauline closed the door.

Walking back to the living room with the CD in her hands she said. "Okay, this is weird." she opened the CD case and put the CD on the CD player. She sut on the couch in front of the TV. She pressed the play bottom and waited for the CD to play. It didn't take so long to start. It was a bed with a man and a woman making love. 

Jaw fell, eyes opened wide as Pauline recognize these two people. Jesse and Jennifer on the bed of passion. Kissing and hugging each other. It was very obvious what thgey were doing and Pauline wasn't going to stay there and watch it. She paused it and left. Tears of dissapointement filled her eyes as she was walking up the stairs. Once she arrived at the bedroom and found the big suitcase. She opened the closet and start packing her things. While she was packing and crying she heard footsteps on the wooden floor. She turned and saw his gift.

Louis looked her in the eyes and walked next to her. Pauline sut down on the bed. "Come on Louis. We're leaving." she said and stood up. Louis turned his head to the left, like he was suprised. "You'll understand soon what i'm saying." she added as she put on the suitcase her clothes. When everything was packed she tok the suitcases and walked down the stairs following by Louis. She looked at ecery room, every inch of their dream house they built to live together a lifetime.

There is only one thing she should do now. She took a pieve of paper and a pen. I"ll let you know when the kids were born.

These were the words she wrote down. With tears in her eyes she left it on the TV table in from of the TV. It was still paused on a scene that he was kissing Jennifer. She took the suitcase on the hand and the one on the other and opened the door as she yelled. "Louis come over here." a few seconds later Louis followed her to her car. She opened the door of the backseat and Louis jumped in. Before she put the suitcase on the car she paused and looked to the house.

It was still hard to believe that he was able to do something like that. He hurt her one more time. Each time she got gurt is more painfull than the other. She doesn't really know where this is going to end. She was staring at their windown with a suitcase in her hand when she couldn't stay any longer. She needed to get away of this place as fast as she could. Every time she closed her eyes she sees him kissing her. And that hurt even more than the previous time.

She wipped off the tears in her eyes and pu the suitcase on that car. She sut on the driver's seat. She was trying to calm down after what she just saw. But she wasn't able to do it. The more she is on the house that they built to be together the more sick on the stomack she was. With a dissapointement and hurt sigh she took the road with no coming back.

While she was driving she thought where is will live now. She will never come back to this house, ever again. Of course going to live with her parents is not the best thing. PLus, if she's going to stay there she must explain everything to them. Then was Ava but she will also need to explain things. So, the only option was left is to go on a motel. She wanted to be as much turther than him was possible but still on the state. She was always a sea lover. She will start looking for a motel which is next to the sea and pet friendly.

She was driving now almost for an hour when she reached the Atlantic City. While she was driving her eye caught a cafe. It was a nice idea to stop for a while. She parked the car on tha parking lot. She and Louis walked in the cafe. When a waitress came to take her order Pauline asked about WiFi. Thankfully they had. She turned on her laptop and start searching for a hotel or a motel to stay.

It took her some minutes to find a pet friendly hotel. It wasn't too long from where she was. And it also had great reviews as long with the prices. After paying the coffee she and Louis went to check in. Arriving at the hotel she went tot he front desk. "Good morning! How can i help you?" the smiling woman asked. "I need a room for one, please." Pauline said. The woman typed on the computer and said. "There is a room available on the 6th floor." she said and gave her the card of the room. "What's are rooms and hotel's facilities?" Pauline asked. "All room have ocean view, equipped kitchen, flatt TV screen and free WiFi. We serve breakfast and dinner." "At what time?" "7-10 breakfast and 8-10 dinner." the woman answered. "Okay, thank you." "Enjoy your stay." the woman on the front desk staid as Pauline grabbed the suitcases.

After arriving at the 6th floor she found the room and opened the door. It was pretty specious with a large bed as long as a couch with a table. The kitchen was in the corner which also has a kitchen table with two chairs. She left the suitcases on the floor and start unpacking the clothes and putting them on the closet.

Jesse opened the door of the house. "Babe, i'm home!" he yelled no responce. As he closed the door behind him he could feel that the house was empty. He walked to the kitchen but she wasn't there. As he turned his head he saw the TV. "Oh no!" he said and run to the couch. He saw the note. He run to their bedroom. He opened the closet. Her clothes weren't there. He walked to the bathroom. All her belongings were missing as long as with her and their babies. He walked slow back to the bedroom and sut on the bed. His hands were on his head as he start crying. 

She left and she will never come back. And is his fault. He should had left that night. He shouldn't let jennifer take the control. And above all he should had stopped at the first place. He was alone on their house. He was feelling lonely. 

At some point he stopped crying. He got up and went downstairs. He pulled his phone out and called her. She doesn't pick it up.He should had guessed that. He knew she was pissed as Hell. But he also knew that he will never talk to her again. Jesse tried to call her again but Pauline doesn't picking it up. Instead she turned off her phone.

He sut on the couch heivy. For one more time he covered his head with his hands. Now he was sure, she will not come back never. He thought that they willlive the rest of their livies together. But because of his actions he will not see her or their kids for a while. He had screwed this up. Very well. Not even God himslef can help him.

He was sitting there praying God to give him the strength to deal with this when the bell rung. Head popped as Jesse stood to open the door. He was sure that the person behind the door wasn't Pauline, she has keys. He wasn't in the mood of having visitors today and from this day on. He hoped and prayied not to be from her family, because he's tottaly screwed up.

He opened the door. "Hey you. How are you doing?" Ava asked as she walked in the house. "What do you want?" he asked agrressive. Aba raised her eyebrow. "What happend to you? Where's Pauline?" Ava asked. "If i knew where she was, i wouldn't be here." he said and slapped the door with power. Ava looked up at him. "Jesse what the Hell is wrong with you? You should be happy. Pauline is grengant with twins and you're gonna get married. What else do you want?" Ava asked as right behind her was the answer of her question.

She turned arooud. She wanted to sit down. Eyes opened wide as she saw the TV. "What the Hell Jesse? What's that? Who's that?" she asked as she walked closer. "Oh my God. Is that you? With Jennifer? What are you doing there with her Jesse?" she turned to face him while she was pointing the TV. "I didn't do anything, Ava. I swear. If you let me explain." he started but he wasn't in the position to take options. "Explain what, Jesse? Is very obvious what you are doing here. How could you?" she slapps at him.

"She gave to you whatever she had and you pay her with that coin? She's fucking prengant with your kids Jesse!" she couldn't talk to him calm, she was yelling at him. "You don't deserve calling her your wife. We're done Jesse." Ava said and she walked away. Jesse stopped her by grabbing her arm. "Please, can you find her? I tryied to call her, she doesn't picking it up. I'll lose my mind if i don't know where they are. I love them, all the three of them. I can't imagine life without them. So, please if you find them text me." he was looking deep in her eyes. He was speaking from the heart.

Ava pulled away. "You should had thought about that earlier." these were the last words she said to him. Ava left the house and slapped the door as she exited it. He was now alone with his thoughts for company.

Chapter 12: Living in Sin

Pauline was on the couch watching the last episode of Criminal Minds, one of her favourite show. Jesse walked down the stairs and said annoying. "You never stop watching these things?" "Shut up! You don't know the whole story. That woman killed her husband because he cheated on her with his first love in High School." she answered without looking at him. "Are people watching that?" "It has 15 seasons Jesse. Even Romeo is watching it, i told him." she added feeling pride for herself and Romeo.

"You know you're crazy right?" "Yeah, i know. Now please sut up i'm trying to solve this case." Pauline yelled from the living room while Jesse was on the kitchen. With a glass of water in his hand he sut next to her. "I remember you that i'll go out with Cody tonight. What are you gonna do?" he asked as he saw that it had a commercial break. "Αva will come. We have some catch up to do all the five of us." Pauline said as her head was resting on his showlder. "She bought some books." she added. "What kind of books?" he asked looking down to her. "What to exept when you're exepting twins for me and you for How to be the best daddy ever." "And are you gonna read it? You hate reading books." "I do but i'm doing this for our kids." she answered.

As they were lying on the couch together Jesse put his hands on Pauline's belly. "They have grown up a little don't they?" he asked. "Yeah, they have." she answered by covering his hands with hers. "When is the next oppointement?" "In 10 days." "When we'll know the sex?" he asked again. "I don't know. But sure no on this one." "Do you want to know?" "I want to. If you don't i really have no problem. As long as they are healthy, the sex is the last thing that matters to me." she answered looking up to him and kissed him.

The break was over and the serie started again. Pauline was hooked up on TV while Jesse was upstairs dressing for his night out with Cody. Dressed in jeans and a shirt he walked down the stairs. He hound Pauline where he left her. "I know that they will be together." she said as the episode was finished. She stood up and walked to the kitchen when she saw Jesse walking down the stairs. He looked down to himself and asked. "How am i?" "Very good. When are you leaving?" she asked and Jesse followed her on the kitchen. "In 5 minutes." he answered and saw Pauline holding a bowl of ice cream. With a spoon in her hands she sut and start eatting.

"You want some?" she asked him. "No, thanks babe." "Then all this is for me..." she said and had a bite. "Time to go." he said checking his watch. He walked closer and gave her a kiss. "Don't be late. Ava will not stay for too long." she said when they broke up from the kiss. "Okay, i won't." he said and took his coat and left the kitchen and then the house.

A few minutes later Jesse arrived at the bar. He found a table and sut waiting for Cody. A waiter came and ordered something to drink. He was looking at the door but Cody hadn't arrived yet. His drink came and drunk a sip. He checked his phone he was late 20 minutes. He sighed as to his mind crossed the worsed scenarios about him. His phone buzzed. He checked the ID, it was Cody.

"Hey man where the Hell are you?" Jesse told him. "Hey, Jess i'm so sorry but i can't make it. Hannah has high fever and we're taking her to the hospital." Cody answered back. "Oh, Cod i'm so sorry. I hope is everything okay. If you need any help with Caleb call me." "Thank you, i apreciate that." Cody said from the other line of the phone. "Call me if you need anything." "I will. Bye." "Bye." Jesse said and hung up the phone.

He drunk a sip of his beer. He wanted to go home but he didn't want to ruin Pauline and Ava's night. So, he disided to stay a little more at the bar. He was sitting there alone when he heard "Jesse is that you?" Jesse turned his head left and his jaw fell. "Jennifer what are you doing here?" he asked. "I was having a drink. What about you?" "I was having a drink too." he answered. "I heard about the wedding and the twins. Congratulations." she said with a smile. "Do you mind if i join you?" she added looking him in the eyes.

Jesse froze for a minute. After all that she caused to Pauline and him she wants to sit with him. Sure they have been more than 7 years but Jennifer seems to be diferent. "Look, Jesse i know that you can't forgive me for what i did to Pauline and to you but i've changed." "I don't know Jennifer." he said and looked away. She sut on the seat across to him. "Do you think i'm this bad and i don't deserve a second chance?" "Everybody deserves a second chance Jennifer. But i'm not so sure if i must give you one. You hurt her more than anything else and i swear to God i won't let you do this to her or me one more time." he said and took his coat.

As he stood up Jennifer caught his arm. "I know what i mad you and her feel. I'm so sorry for that, i really am." she stopped him looking him in the eyes. "I'm not the one who should apologise to." he said and pulled away her hand from his arm. He walked away but Jennifer was determined he must listen what she has to say. Once he left the bar she run after him.

"Jesse wait. Please." she yelled. Jesse turned and answered. "Jennifer we don't have nothing to talk about." "Could you please listen what i have to say? I won't be long." she looked him in the eyes as she spoke. "Fine. Tell me." he said and put his arms on his waist. "Not here. Let's go to my place. Is not so far from here." she said. Jesse looked down to his feet for a second and then back to her. "Okay, you have 30 minutes." he said and start walking to Jennifer's house.

Pauline gave Ava a bowl full of ice cream. "So, i told you i found those books. I read some pages and they are really cool. You and Jesse should read them. They help a lot." Ava started and gave Pauline the books. "Thanks. I'll check on them later. Tell me how are you doing?" Pauline took a bite. "Pretty good. We start searching for furniture for the baby's room." "How are the grandparents doing? I haven't talked to them for a while." "Well, my Dad is just being my Dad. You know what this means." "I found it very cute." Pauline answered. 

"It is. I knew that he's crazy about me and Adam but now with this little guy is very different." Ava explained. "He's just being a Sugar Grandfather." "He's writting a song about him already." Ava said and took an another bite of her ice cream too. "Really? That's cute." Pauline said. "Maybe Jon is going to write too?" she added. "Maybe an another album will be great and an another Tour." Ava joked and laughed. 

"Don't laugh!" "Okay, i stop. How are you holding up?" "With the twins you mean?" she asked back. "Yeah." "Pretty good too. You know i was a twin too but my little brother died on the birth." Pauline said. "Wow. You never told me that before." Ava said suprised. "Yeah i know. Jesse doesn't know it either." "Where is he now?" "Out with Cody." "Oh, he start going out without you. Is he cheating on you?" Ava laughed.

"Nah, i don't think so. After what i did after the Show he will never dear." "But you didn't do anything." Ava asked back. She watched the Show and Pauline didn't do anything. "I didn't do it on the show. I did it on the bedroom." Pauline winked at her. "Oh, naughty girl!" "Yes, i am and i have no problem with that." she said and laughed along with Ava.

Jennifer opened the door of her apparment and let Jesse in. Jesse walked in and looked around at the living room. It was pretty big and very morden. "Have a seat. I'll bring some drinks." she said and disappear on the kitchen. Jesse sut on the couch and took off his coat. Jennifer returned with two glasses and a bottle of whiskey. She left it on the table and had a seat next to him.

She pured him a glass. "Thank you." he took in his hands and drunk a sip. "You know after what i did i wasted a lot time thinking. I'm seeing a therapist for the last 8 years and she helped me a lot dealing with my problems." "Did you get over them?" he asked drinking an another sip. "It took me a while but yes i did." she answered shaking her head. "It's good to hear." Jesse said and finished his glass. Jennifer notised it and said. "You want some more?" "Yes, please." Jennifer filling his glass with the liquor.

"As the years passed i realized that Pauline wasn't the reason of why i did all these. She was just the cause of it. Let's just say that she was the cherry on the top of the cake. I needed someone to blame for all the bad things that happen to me all the time." "Bad things like what?" he asked. Jennifer looked down to her feet and tears filled her eyes. She looked up to him and said. "My parents died 8 years ago on a car accident." she said with crying voice. "Oh Jennifer i'm so sorry to hear that." he said and hugged her for three seconds. 

As they broke up from the hug she locked her eyes with his. She moved closer and kissed him soflty. He pulled away immediatly. "I'm sorry Jennifer but we could never have this again. I'm sorry." he told her and stood up from the couch. He took his coat and wear it. He had opened the door when he heard his name from Jennifer. "Jesse." she said. He turned and saw her completely naked. Just standing there in front of him naked.

"I know we will never have anything but i want to feel you one more time before i loose you forever." she said and walked closer to him. She wrapped her arms around him as she kissed him with passion. After two kisses Jesse stopped her. "Jennifer i told you. There nothing going one between us." "Remember Jesse how fucking it felt the last time we made love. It was so natural and so true. You never loved this girl, you did all these just to make me jelous. And you did it. Here i am Jesse. I'm standing in front of you." as she spoke she was unbottoming his shirt.

Jesse found the power and the strength to pull away one more time. But his living nightmare was right behind him. "If you don't feel nothing for me then come here and say it looking me in the eyes and i will never bother you again." she said and left. He was yelling her name to stop but she didn't. She walked in her bedroom and stopped in front of the bed. Jesse was following her. When she stopped he said. "I don't feel nothing for you. I'm sorry." he said but it was already too late to save himself or his future marriage with Pauline. 

He was lying on the bed with her. It was right the momment when a man does not control his mind anymore. It was that momment when a man can not resist what a woman has to offer even though he doesn't have feeling for her. It was that momment when a man ruined all that he built since he met his one true long. It was the momment that he will hunt him for the rest of his life. It was the momment when he cheated on her.
