Chapter 35: Another Bleeding Heart, Another Brand New Start

Pauline waked up the next morning alone when the alarm clock buzzed. She didn't sleep much that night not because of the early morning feeding but because of the fight she had with Jesse. It was hard for her to process why on Earth he lied to her again. She tried to be in his shoes for a moment to see what she would have done, but she always came up with the same answer over and over. She would have told him. They have been sharing their livies for quite some time now and that was what they vowed when they got married, to be there for each other now matter what.

With a small sigh she got got up from the bed and went to the bathroom. Once she was all washed up she walked into the nursey room next door to wake up PJ and Kevin but they were not there. Her heart skipped a beat and soon enough she was walking down the stairs only to find Jesse and them sitting on the floor playing. She couldn't help herself not to smile, after all they looked marvelous together even if it was 7 am.

Jesse felt her in the room and turned to where she was standing. "I did the feeding and changed their diapers. I made you coffee." he said and stood up from the floor. "Good morning Paul." he added when he was standing right next to her and he beand over for a kiss but she turned her face the other way as she said "You didn't have to do that." she knelt down and kissed her sons forheads. "I don't think that. I know how tired you are and i wanted to help you." Jesse added and followed Pauline to the kitchen.

When they were on the kitchen she saw the coffee he made for her and a note he wrote 'I'm sorry'. "You think that's good enough for me to forgive you Jess?" she slapped back without touching the glass of coffee. "No! Of course not! I'm just trying to do the right thing here, if you let me!" he answered. Pauline was not looking at him, she didn't have the power. She started empying the dishwasher and taking the silverware to their place. "I have a meeting with Dad in a couple of hours for the idea i told you about yesterday. You wanna come with me? I could use the extra support. You how my Dad is with new ideas." he asked her while she was looking at her putting the plates on the cupboard.

"I can't. I will meet with my Dad in the office." she simply answered while doing her job. "Oh i see. You thought about what he asked?" he asked her and walked right next to her to help her but she turned the other way again. Jesse sighed when he realized she was still mad at him. "Yes, i did. I will do it. We need the money and i need the distraction." she told him and left the kitchen. "Distraction from what?" he asked back puzzled and followed her. "From you!" she replied and looked at him this time. "You thought that feeding them and making me coffee will somehow fix things?"

"Paul, i told you i am really sorry i didn't want to ruin this day for you." Jesse said and looked back at her. "And you decide to ruin the following ones. Great thinking, Jess." she slapped back him. "I crossed the line, i know. But i am really really sorry, i don't know what else to say." "I don't know either Jess." Pauline started. "I want to do what is best for us and the boys. I'm trying to create a better future for all of us. You know growing up i had everything and i want the same thing for PJ and Kevin. If this idea of mine actually works we will not have to worry anymore." Jesse said before she could finish her setence. He took her hands in his and kissed them and then looked at her again.

"Please, have a little faith in me. I really need that right now. I know its risky but like Richie said 'Who dares, wins' and i'm willing to do that. But please i can not do this without you Paul! I'm trying to be a better person, a better husband and a better father but these mean nothing if you are not next to me, to make my day with your smile,  to make me laugh and hold me when things get too tough but baby we're still worth the fight and i have to give it a try." he was in tears now as he said those things that came out of his heart and she was in tears too.

She kept looking at him and she couldn't speak a word. Whatever she came up with sounding so silly in her mind compared to what she just heard and that made her sick to her stomach. She loved him deeply and without limits. "Okay..." she answered when she found her voice. His face lighted up like a candle in the darkness. "Really?" "Really, but please next time talk to me. We've been through a lot and we don't have to make things harder for us, okay?" she said and whiped off that single tear from her cheek. "Yes, of course!" he answered with a smile. "I love you even when you drive me insane!" she told him and laughed. "I love you too even when you are mad at me!" he kissed her deeply this time not being afraid of what was coming next. All that mattered to him was this moment.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jesse was outside of his old house waiting for someone to answer the door. His hands were getting sweaty and that folder he was holding didn't help at all. He stayed up all night trying to make a business plan for the idea he had and he was proud of that. He only hoped his father will feel the same way. He knew he was a disappointment recently to everyone and he wanted to change that. The door finally opened by his mother.
"Jesse! Come inside!" Dorothea said after giving him a quick hug. He walked inside and closed the door behind him. "Look at you! I don't believe it's been a week! How are Pauline and the boys? You should have brought them with you, i already miss them!" she continued as they made their way to the living room. "They are good, you know, like you left them! You are welcome to visit any time." Jesse answered. "Yeah, i know but i've so much work to do with the Kitchen and the Foundation. But i think we should pay you guys a visit some time soon." she said and shut on the couch. "What's that?" she asked him back when she saw the folder Jesse was holding. "Your Dad told me, if you need anything you can always ask me. Your Dad doesn't need to know everything."
"Thanks Mum, but we're alright. That's its been something i've working on and with some luck it will come true." Jesse said and smiled. "Well, i'm sure it will." his mother answered and touched his knee. "Look, i have to leave now. Your Dad its in the office. Tell him i won't be long." she added as she stood up and his kissed his cheek. "Will do Mum!" he said and smiled.
Jesse saw his mother leaving and he knew this was the time. Taking a deep breath and with the folder in his hand he walked through the living room to his father's office. As he was getting closer he heard his Dad talking with someone, probably on the phone. He knocked the door twice and then Jon opened it. He gave him a small smile while he was still talking on the phone. Jesse walked in and closed the door. It's been a while since he was in his office. Being a kid he was not allowed to be there all the time, only if it was an emergancy and he never knew the reason, but being young and curious he always found ways to take a look inside. He looked around and nothing had changed over the years. Lots of awards on the bookcase and on the wall.
"Sorry about that Jess." Jon said and sat down on the chair behind the laptop. Jesse sat on the oposite side and put the folder he was holding on the wooden desk. "No worries." he replied in a second. "You said you wanted to talk to me about something." Jon said as he reached for the pack of cigarettes that was next to the laptop. He lighted up one. Jesse shallowed as he felt his mouth going dry. "Yes. I have business idea and i'm wondering if you want to help me." Jesse started. Jon was looking at him as he blew out the smoke. "Go on." he simply said.
"Well, i don't know how it hit me. But since i didn't go to work i have a lot time to think about what i want to do with my life. Now more than ever actually, being a father changed me a lot like you told. So..." Jesse paused and opened the folder he had brought with him and took some parer sheets from inside. "I want to start a wine business and since you love wine more than everyone, i was hoping you could help me. Here i made a business plan for you to see. Google helped me a lot." he added and gave Jon the whole folder.
Jon was looking at him puzzled and left the cigarette on the ashtray right next to him. He started looking at each page when Jesse added. "It's not very professional but i think you get the point." Jon looked at him. "You are right i really love wine." Jon said and looked at him over the sheet he was holding. "You really wanna do this? I mean are you ready for this? Owning a business its not a walk on the park. It takes time to make profit which i'm sure you need at this point." "I'm ready. I will do anything in my power to put food on the table for my family. I've changed Dad and there is no way i was going to ask you for money. We both are too proud to do that." Jesse paused for a second and looked at his father.
"I told her everything. It was bad at first but now i think we are in a better place. If it fails at least i know that i did everything i could." Jon saw that sparkle in his eyes that he had missed. "Okay, Jess. Give me a few days to talk with my accountant and my team. Can i keep these?" Jon asked while holding the folder. "Yeah, sure! I have copies at home." Jesse answered back and smiled. "Good, we'll be in touch Jess!" Jon answered and held his hand for a handshake. "Looking forward to do business with you Dad." Jesse replied and finished the handshake with his father.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

In the meantime Pauline was on the side of the town, in Trenton. After almost an hour on the road she reached the company's office where her father was meeting her again. She had thought about it very well even thought she knew she had no other choise. She didn't know if Jesse's new idea will work and they need the money. Of course she believed in him. It's been a while since he was so passionate about something and there was nothing else she could do, expect for believing in him. Soon enough she found a parking spot and left her car there. Still the same Toyota Prius her father gave to her on her 16th birthday.

Minutes later Pauline was greeted by the secretery of the company Rachel. She made her coffee and accompanied her to her father's office. Knocking on the door she heard her father say "Hey Paul, come in!" Pauline walked in and closed the door behind her. "Good morning Dad!" she said and smiled. "I see Rachel made you coffee." Costas asked her while she sat on the chair and took a sip of her coffee. "Yeah, it's pretty nice." "That's good to hear!So, i guess you and Jesse thought about my proposal." Costas started letting his daughter take the lead of the conversation. Pauline shocked her head and answered. "Yeah, we did." she paused and looked at him "I'll do it!" she finished and gave him a big smile.

"Oh i knew it! You did the right thing. I'm happy and proud of you, you'll do a very good job here!" her father answered and both stood up and hugged each other. "So, let me introduce you to the guy who knows this place better than i ever will." Costas added and dailed a number on the phone on the desk of his. "Could you please come to my office?" he said and hung up the phone. "You two will make a great team i'm sure!" he said and turned to her. "Who is he?" Pauline asked back confused. "Harry is my right hand. Great mind and he basically grew up here. His father and uncle both worked for uncle Nick before they retired." that was what Costas managed to say before they heard a knock on the door.

The door opened and a blonde, blue eyed man wearing a pair of black jeans and a white shirt with roll up sleeves walked in. Even though Pauline had been there more time she could remember it was the first time she saw Harry. "You asked me, Boss?" he asked and closed the door. "Yes, Harry please have a seat." he gave a quick awkward smile to Pauline and sat on the chair next to her. "I want you to meet your new boss, my daughter Pauline." Costas said. "Hi, i'm Harry! It's nice to finally meet you, i've heard so much about you!" Harry said smiling and shook hands with Pauline. "Likewise Harry." Pauline smiled back. "Oh cogratulations for the wedding. Your Dad saw us some picture you looked amazing and Jesse of course." Harrry added shortly. "Thank you Harry!" she said.

"So, Paul ready for your trainning?" Costas said and both looked at him. "Yeah, sure! We start like right now?" Pauline asked back a little nervous because she was not prepared to start right now. "No, silly! Tommorow here 8.00 am." her father answered and Pauline felt so realeved. "Don't worry i'll be here with some coffee." Harry tried to encourage her. Pauline chuckled and replied "Thanks." "I'll leave you two to catch up." Harry said and stood up. "Looking forward to work with you Pauline." "Same here Harry." Pauline answered politetly as he was watching him leaving. Her eyes where locked on the closed door for several seconds when her father said with a raised voice "Paul! I'm talking to you!"

"Oh sorry! What did you say?" she asked back and met his gaze. "I said what do you think about Harry? He's very good at his job and a good guy, everybody likes him. You have a lot to learn from him." Costas said and looked at his daughter. "I don't know, i just met him. He's okay i guess." Pauline answered and drunk a sip from her coffee. "Yeah, you're right. Anyway, see you tommorow. And please don't be late, you need to earn their respect from the beginning." "Will do Dad! Don't worry!" Pauline answered proudly. "That's my girl!" her father said smiled. "Now, try to get some rest. You will need it!" he added a few seconds later. Pauline was starring at him thinking what she got herself into. But there is no time for urning back now, the desicion had been made and she must stick to that no matter what.

Chapter 34: All The Money's Gone, All The Jobs Are Gone

 Pauline and Jesse were walking down the long hallway a little drunk and happier than ever. They were holding hands and laughing about something that they couldn't ever remember and it was alright. It was about 6 am when they were standing outside of their room. Jesse was searching of the key to enter while Pauline was still in her wedding dress and watching the sun set from the window near by. She saw with the corner of her eye that he opened the door and she followed soon enough. She closed the door behind her and saw Jesse leaving his jacket and vest on the couch near by the door.

Jesse looked at her and she looked back at him. A few seconds of silence broke when they both brust into laughter while she was walking closer to him. She hugged him and he hugged back. When they broke apart he met her lips and kissed her lighlty while she put her arms around his neck. "I still can't believe you sung!" he asked her in a funny way when they broke the kiss. She chuckled hard and answered "It was not my idea...." she started while the memories came back at her singing. "Who was it so i can thank him! I really loved that version of 'Seat next to you' Paul." Jesse replied and looked her in the eyes. "It was your Dad's actually. You know we were dacning and i think we both had more wine that we should and it didn't take long..." she explained to him.

"That is very intersting." he simply said and kissed her again. He smiled right after and took her hand and made their way to the master bedroom of their suite. Eleven candles and sevaral red rose petals were scattered all over the floor and the bed. The white candles were lighted and in a shape of a heart where in its center was a champane and two high glasses. Pauline covered her mouth at this sight while Jesse was standing next to her proudly smiling.

"One candle for each year we are together..." he whispered way down low in her ear while he was facing her. Pauline met his gaze and put her lips on his like it was for the first time. "You are unbelievable!" she said in a sweet way only she could speak. "It's so beautiful i don't want to ruin it!" she statted smiling. Jesse laughed. "We don't have to.... not yet at least." he said meaning what excactly she had thought. She smiled again. "I don't know about you but i'm gonna take a shower." she said and started taking off the dress of hers. In a few seconds she was walking naked to the bathroom on their right.

"I'll leave the door open." she said wickedly while resting her hand on the door leaving it half open like she promised and disappeared. Jesse was just standing there admiring her naked body as the sun's light was dancing on her skin making her even more angelic in his eyes than she already was. Without loosing any time he took off his shirt and navy blue pants. Barefoot and naked he walked in the bathroom and closed the door behind him.

He looked himself in the mirror on his left and fixed his hair. Taking a deep breath he entered the shower where she was. Hot water was running from the top to their toes. Her hair were already pretty wet and her make up ruined. She looked tired and yet full of energy. He put some hair behind her ear and kissed her passionately while with his right hand was making its way to one of her breasts. He kissed her neck as she put her fingertips on his wet back. She rested her head on his shoulder letting herself free under his touch. He moved to her already hard nipple and kissed it. His hand was moving lower and lower until he met her hairless part of her body he was craving at this moment. With a gentle move his started making cicrular movements around her clitoris making her breath caught on her throat.

He knew well enough now that she was liked that and didn't want him to stop, like he did not. With time his movements were getting a little harder but not too hard. They had a lot of time ahead of them and he didn't want to rush things. He stopped and looked up at her and kissed her hard. While their lips were exploring each other one more time he found the time to slide one finger inside her making her moan.He smiled while she was still kissing her. God he loved the way she felt under his figers and he knew she loved that too, maybe a little more that she should.

He was busy trying to make her feel that lust in her eyes that he didn't notice his penis getting errected and being between them. He was defently not suprised by that but he wanted to focus on her. But Pauline on the other hand had other plans on her mind. Jesse knew what she was up to and smiled. Before she could finish her move she turned her around. She placed her forearms on the white tiles while water was still running down her back. "Hey..." she started but before she could finish he was already inside her. Bodies were moving together perfect rhythm and time as she let a small curse enjoying every second.

Jesse was watching her every muscle rocking hard under his bare and wet skin and feeling the urge to move harder and deeper, and he did. His heart was beating like it was a time bomb ready to explode. He knew with every push his was making his was getting closer and he didn't want that right now. He wanted this to last forever and he would do everything in his power to make this happen. He stopped and pull himself out and turned her around in a glimpse of an eye. He was watching her now trying to catch her breath as her eyes were wide open. She smiled and kissed him again.

She turned of the tap of the water and took his hand. They were leaving wet footprints all over the room up to the small livin room. She watched as the sun was already rised. Their wet bodies were sparkling under the light of the sun as she gently push him down on the couch. She fixed her hair and knelt right in front of him. He was watching her close and he knew what was about to happen. She looked up at him and smiled in a way he loved. With her left hand she touched his already hard penis. He shuddered under her touch and she coudn't be more in love with him right now.

She started moving her hand up and down in a slow tempo just like he wanted. After all these years she was more comfortable around him and knew what to do and most importantly when to do it. His eyes rolled when her mouth touched the tip of his penis. "Fuck..." he almost whispered. She was going up and down again with her mouth while he was holding her wet hair in his hands. He was getting closer and closer with every move and she knew that and that's where she stopped leaving him breathless.

Pauline stoop up and placed herself on top of him. She kissed him and helped him with her fingers to enter her. Both moaned hard when he was inside her. She started moving as slow as she could while she trying to find her balance on his showlders. Her wet heair were stuck on her sweaty skin and her eyes were closed while he was kissing her breasts gently. She was still bouncing up and down going all the way in and out making Jesse feel powerless to move or do anything, it was all her. He was trying hard to have control of his own body while she was still moving. She knew he was getting close and she was too when he starting playing with her clitoris again with his fingers.

He was now sweatting too. His cheeks were red and his breathing was heavy when suddenly he felt it coming. He grabbed her waist with his hands and she stopped. He locked eyes with her and kissed real quick. This time he started moving roughly, faster. "Fuck..." he cursed again when he found his realese inside her. His hair was a mess just like hers when she stopped and shut right next to him. He turned to her and said with his hand on her buning cheek "I love you Paul!" "I love you too, Jess!" she replied when she found her own breath. He kissed her forhead and stood up. He held his hand to her and said "Let's get cleaned up babe. You need to rest." Pauline was more than willing to do what he had just asked. Taking his hand they went to the bathroom took a very quick shower and layied down to their bed of roses to sleep holding each other close.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
PJ and Kevin were playing by the pool in a safe distance from it while Pauline was a few feet away enjoying aan icced coffee. Being afteroon was probably the best time of the day to chill by the pool and watch the sunset. It has been a week or so since they got back from Hawaii married. She looked at her ring on her finger and smiled. Even though Jesse was not with her at the momment she could sence him all over the house. Her phone rung and both his sons turned their heads to the ringtone.
"Hey Dad, how you doing?" she asked when she picked up the phone. "Hey Paul! I'm at the office and i was wondering if you could stop by today." her father watsed no time and got into the point. Pauline suprised by his question she said "I could, but Jesse is not here right now and i'm alone with the boys." "That's not a problem. Take them with you. You know i missed them already!" her father said fast enough. Pauline was thinking a while before she finally answered "Okay, we can come. I'll leave Jesse a note." "Great! See you in a few." Costas said with excitement. "Bye!" Pauline answered and hung up the phone.
She put it on the table in front of her and looked at the boys who were playing together. While they were getting ready to leave she was thinking. That phone call was very suspisius in too many reasons she could think. Asked her to meet her in the company right now the reason behind that must be very important she thought. In only a few minutes her, PJ and Kevin were almost ready to leave the house. Pauline send a text to Jesse letting him know where they will be. She put them on their car seats and left the house.
About 25 minutes later she had already parked the car outside of the company her father was inherited from his uncle. He was his only nephew and didn't have any children on his own or a wife to give it. He was a free spirit like his father used to saw when he visting him every summer. His death started an adventure that none of them was prepared to even live. She remembered that day like it was yesterday and looking at herself and the life she living right now was definitley like a Hollywood movie. Not meeting the band because she knew the chances to that were very low or finding love in a forein country but being happy. That was what she always wanted. She had heard many time the phrase 'American Dream' but she was not very sure that was something she could have in her life.
And here she was standing outside of the companie's office with her sons all those years later. She rung the bell and a few seconds later the door buzzed open in front of her. She walked in and pushed the double stroller on the elevator on her left. The 10 seconds ride came to an end as the door opened wide in from of them where her father was standing waiting them. He hugged her and said "I'm glad you made it!" "You were sounding surious on the phone, so here were are!" she answered and smiled at him. Taking a few steps back he knelt down to see his grandsons. "Hello to you too boys!" Costas said but either of PJ and Kevin gave him attention they were too busy playing a stuffed elephant and giraffe.
A little disappointed Pauline's father stoop up and said smiling "Come on, follow me!" He lead the way to where his office was. Passing by the other offices she didn't see anyone and that made her more worried of what he will tell her. Running a successfull construction company for over ten years was a big accomplishment of his and Pauline couldn't be prouder. Sure it was very hard at the beginning giving the fact that he was on the other side of the world and having zero experience but he found its way.
Costas closed the door behind them and walked around his desk and shut on the big black chair. Pauline shut right across him. "So?" she started. "You want some water? Juice?" he asked back. "Water will be fine..." she answered trying to study his face. He stood up again and walked to the end of office where a mini fridge was. He grabbed a bottled water and gave it to her before he shut on the chair again. He crossed his fingers and started "As you know this company was my uncle's Nick and he left me in charge as he statted on his will before he passed away." he paused and looked at her. "I worked hard, spend nights here trying to figure out everything that was going on. My English was not an ally..." he chuckled and she did too. Pauline was looking him close as many thoughts were running throught her mind.
"With a little help from you i learnt that damn language and i'm gratefull for this. But just like almost everything in this world has an expiration date, so do i." he paused again and took her hands in his. He looked deep in her eyes as he said the following "I'm retiring. I'm turning 69 in a few months and i want to sit on the passenger seat for a change. I'm not sick or anything,your sister makes sure of that, you know being a doctor and that. So, it's all comes down to you. I want you to do this because i know you can!" he finished leaving Pauline on the other side of the desk a little suprised, a little shocked.
"I know with the boys, the wedding in Hawaii and all that you spend way too much money. And since you don't have a job right now it's the perfect time to step aside and let you shine! I talked with your mother about this and she agrees." he paused again. "So, please think about it. Talk with Jesse, with yourself! I'll be here with you every step of the way until you're good on your own." he finished.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Pauline was sitting once again next to the pool but this time she was alone. The boys were sleeping upstairs and she was watching them from the monitor that was on the table. Music was playing on the backround just to keep company to her thoughts. Her thoughts which were defenitely a mess after the conversation she had with her father earlier that day. She must admit to herself though that she didn't see that one coming. The idea of ther father leaving the company to her was propably a crazy thing to do, but he did it anyway.

Her sister didn't need that, she was a doctor now and Pauline was what now? Jobless for over a year and a mother. Sure Jesse was earing some money but now their needs have changed for good. She checked the time on the phone and sipped some water that was next to her waiting for Jesse to return from his practice.

Jesse opened the door of the house and walked in and left his bag on the floor. The house seemed empty to him even though he knew everybody was there. The boys will be sound sleeping upstairs and his now wife will be somewhere trying to get all the rest she could. A few lights were on and that was good enough for him to spot Pauline outside next to the pool. He smiled as he knew that was her favourite spot on their home. As he was getting closer he heard some music playing low from her phone but she had no headphones on. "Hey..." he said with low voice not wanting to scare her.

Pauline at the sound of his voice she turned around and saw him standing a few feet away wearing his shorts and a simple t-shirt. "Hey..." she also said as Jesse walked right next to her and kissed her lightly. "I saw the text you send me in the afternoon, everything alright?" he asked her when he sut on the other chair. "Well, i really don't know where to start." she started and looked at him. "Long story short." she started again and paused "My Dad is retiring and offered me to take over the business." Pauline finished this time and looked at Jesse who had the same look on his face like she had when her father offered her this job.

"Wow!" Jesse answered and rolled his eyes. "I was not expecting that... at all!" he added just afew seconds later. "You know this might be a good thing since i don't have a job yet.But i really have no fucking idea how to runn a business." "I'm sure your Dad will help you with this. You know i think you're going to be just fine. It's like managing a team which is what you're studying." Jesse said and looked at her. "Yeah i know but that's way diferent." "Don't worry Paul, we believe in you!" he said and stood up and gave her a quick kiss and after he added. "We'll talk about this later babe, i really need a shower!" he only managed to get a few steps away when she asked him "Jess?" "Yes, babe." he looked at her over his shoulder.

"Where were you? I know you were not in practice." Pauline said simply without looking at him. Jesse's blood froze as soon as he heard that question. "I saw your shoes were upstairs. Both pairs. And coming back here you were not tired at all. I've watched you coming back for way too many years and i know how you look. You're so tense after we got here from Hawaii and i'm wondering what part do i play here? You know better than everyone what happens when you keep things from me but history repeats. I try really hard to keep this family together Jesse and you don't seem to care at all... again." she paused now and she was still looking in front of her.

"So, please just be honest with me." Jesse was listening very carefully to what she just said. He could not blame her, after all she was 100% right. Jesse walked to where she was sitting and looked at her but she turned her face the other way and stood up. She was walking next to the pool when she heard "I got fired from Notre Dame about 4 months ago." he finally took that burden out of his shouldiers. Pauline remained silent. Her hands were in the pockets on her shorts. She was now halfway pool away from him. "Their budget was getting low and my stats were not good anymore, which is true. I've been terrible in every way possibe." he chuckled at the mess he had created.

"Look Paul, i am really really sorry. I know if i told you then you would want to postpone to wedding and i could not do this to you. You were so happy and i din't want to ruin that. I'm so sorry Paul! You have no idea how hard was to keep this from you? I wanted to tell you, you're my wife for fuck's sake! But i couldn't speak the words..." he paused there and looked across the pool to where she was standing tall making her silhouette was making a clear reflection to the calm pool water.

"Are you gonna say something?" he almost screamed this time. She was just stadning there looking at the water. "Paul?" he cried out loud. Pauline didn't move a muscle. Jesse knew her very well and he could tell she was boiling inside. "I am sorry, i should have told you!But i had an idea to start a company on my own and you're the first one to know. I've told anyone about this." he was trying to make her say a word to him but from what it seems he had failed.

"I'm going to sleep. Don't even try to come upstairs." Pauline spoke after quite some time. "You will not go anywhere! We have to talk about this!" he slapped back while Pauline was walking inside the house. He grabbed her by the arm. "We have nothing to talk about." "Come on Paul! You knew i didn't hide this on purpose from you! How many times do i have to say this?" Jesse answered and let his hand off her arm. "Don't know Jess! You should have thought about that 4 months ago, not now!" her voice was so calm and that was what scarred Jesse the most. He knew she had a bad temper and this time was diferent than the other fights they had over the years.

He looked at her and tried to touch her face but she stoppe him. "Goodnight Jess." she said shortly after and walked in the house. She was climbing up the stairs while Jesse was stading there looking at her back fading away she reached the top fo the staircase.

Chapter 33: Thank You For Lovin' Me

 Pauline was sitting on the chair looking at the beach while the hair stylist was doing her hair. A lot of people were coming in and out all morning but she didn't always noticed them. It was like she was there and in the same time miles away. Was she nervous? Of course, without a single doubt more than she thought she will be. Even though every person she cared about was there she still didn't know how to react. She looked over her shoulder. Her mother and sister were talking with the make up artist, Ava was trying to figure out how greek traditional dances were supposed to be danced. She laughed.

She looked in front of her again wondering if this is finaly happening. If she was really here or this was just a dream. But it was 100% real and she coudn't be more gratefull and happy. Once her hair was done she stood up and looked herself at the mirror. She looked like she wanted. Nothing more, nothing less just perfect.

"You look great!" Ava said when she got closer to her. "Thank you! Did you learn anything?" Pauline asked back referring to the dance. "Not sure yet but i will do my best!" Ava answered laughing. "I hope there will be and normal songs." "These are normal songs!" Pauline joked. "But there will be 'normal' songs." Pauline added. Ava looked at her and said "I know this feeling. But it will get better when you see him. Trust me girl!" Pauline looked at her thinking how was it possible to know what was crossing her mind. She smiled and looked down at her feet. "Yeah, i know. But there are so many thing to be done and i don't know if everything will be ready." Pauline said and looked at her again. "Hey hey! Listen to me we are all here to make sure everything will be like you guys want." "I know and i can't thank you enough! But you know me i get anxious in a second." Pauline said as she was thinking what she must do next only 2 hours before the wedding.

"Paul, if you are anxious all the time you're missing the point!" Ava answered and touched her hand while she looked in her eyes. "You remember me on my wedding day i was a walking disaster and you also know who help me get throught this..... so there is no way i won't help you. Plus look around, everyone you will ever need is here for you and Jess. So stop being you and enjoy this fucking day!" when she finished she hugged her close. "Thank you! Now let's do this!" Pauline answered when they broke the hug.

A couple rooms away Jesse had just finished his shower. He sut on the bed and looked across the room to his suit. He was more than happy, he was thrilled. After the talk he had with his father and Richie eveything start taking place in his mind and in his heart. "Hey man you ready?" Cody asked as he entered the room all dressed up. "Jess, come on we need to hurry." he said again while checking his watch. "I know, i know! I'm just taking a moment." Jesse replied as he stood up and walked to the wardrobe to where his navy blue suit was. "Having seconds thoughts?" "Not a single one man! I love her to the death and she will be mine till the end of time!" Jesse said as he put his pants on.

"That's what i wanted to hear!" Cody answered and handed him thw white shirt. "You look good man, better that yesterday." Jesse took his shirt from his best-man and put it on. "Yeah i wanted a wake-up-call to be me again." Jesse replied while his was bottoning his shirt. "Jess! You are not dressed yet? We will be late!" Jon said as he walked in and found his first born son half dressed. "Here i'll help you with you tie." Jon got the gray tie in his hands and put it over his son's shoulders. In a couple of seconds it was ready. "Here!" he said and smiled. "Thanks Dad!" Jesse answered back and smiled.

"Come on Cody let's give him some time, but not too much!" Jon said as he and Cody were walking away. Once the door closed Jesse looked himself on the mirror. He put his vest on and fixed his tie. He was fully shaved and had his hair done early this morning. It's been a while he has them this short. In fact this was his haircut when he met Pauline back in high school. He laughed as he remembered that meatballs he threw at her and when he saw her eyes for the first time. He sut on the bed and wore his socks and shoes. He put some perfume on and the jacket was the last he wore before he took a quick look at the mirror.

He opened the door and about 20 people stopped whatever they were doing. Dorothea walked to his side and hugged him tight. "You look gorgeous!" she gave him a kiss on his cheek when they broke the hug. She fixed his hair a little as she couldn't hide her tears any longer. "Oh Mom!" Jesse said and hugged her one more time. "Thank you! You look beautiful too! And everybody here as well!" Jesse said again and looked everyone single one of them in the eyes. It was at this momment he started feeling his palms getting sweaty but he didn't care. "Now let's go! I think it's time!" he said smiling.

"Go Jon! Be with your son. I'll go check on the girls if they need anything!" Richie said as he was looking everyone walking out of the room. "Sure man?" Jon said. "Yeah, man! It's his day and he needs you more than me!" Richie answered and fixed his best friend's tie once more. When the tie was ready Jon hugged Richie and said "See you in a bit!" and walked away.

Richie followed Jon and closed the door behind him. He walked by on the hallway and stoped at the door. He as well fixed his tie and knocked on the door. A couple of seconds later Zeta opened the door. "Oh hey Richie! Come in!" she said and smiled. "Wow you look great young lady!" Richie said as he saw Pauline's little sister wearing a light blue dress and silver high heels. "Thank you! You don't look bad yourself with the toxido! I know you don't really like them." Zeta started and paused of a second and whispered to him "I'd rather wear some jeans and a t-shirt!". They both laughed as Richie made his way in the main area of the room.

"Come on Pauline! Get out!" her mother yelled and knocked on the door. Pauline heard her mother while she was putting her wedding dress on. She didn't answer. Once her skin touched the silk fabric she looked herself at the mirror. She was ready and she knew it. Outside of the room everybody was calling her name. She checked the time in her phone, she still had some time to spare even though she was dying to leave this room.

Suddenly the tall wooden door opened and Pauline walked outside with a billion dollar smile on her face. Every person on the room froze when they saw her looking breathtaking in her wedding dress. Her parents walked closer and admired their daughter who was trying not to ruin her make up with her tears. "You look...." her father started but it was too much for him to finish what he started and he just simply hugged her as tight as he could. "I love you Dad!" Pauline spoke while she was still hugging him close.

"Where are the boys?" Pauline asked when they broke the hug. "Dorothea came and took them with her." her mother answered. "I think its time to leave don't you think?" Ava said while she was standing next to her father. Richie had his both hands in his pockets of his black pants while Pauline was walking towards him. "You should go i'll be there soon." Pauline spoke in front of them but Richie never heard a word. In his mind she still was a little girl just like his own daughter and now she was standing there in front of him all dressed up in white. He had the exact same feelings he has when Ava was getting married but how was the even possible because Pauline was not his daughter, she was just a friend.

"Richie!" Pauline said and touched his arm. Her big hazel eyes brought him back from his daydream. "Don't get him wrong he's emotional these days, right Dad?" Ava answered fast before Richie could find his own words. "Yeah, you know you're still 17 in my head and look at you now Angel!" Richie finaly spoke his words. Pauline chuckled and looked down at her feet. "Not 17 anymore and you still call me Angel!" "You know we will always call you that. Come here!" Richie said and opened his arms for a hug. Pauline hugged him for a more seconds than she could because it looked like he needed it. "Dad let's go!" Ava said a few seconds later and with father holding hands they walked out of the room leaving only Pauline and her father there.

Jesse was watching more and more people taking their seats. He had a big smile on his lips that he couldn't help it. Even though he was very nervous he was more than happy. He was always fixing his tie and checking the time in his watch. "Man the tie is perfect you will ruin it!" Cody said standing next to him the whole time. "She's late!" Jesse answered while he was checking the entrance to find his soon-to-be-wife walking in. "Don't worry! She will be here soon enough!" his best-man answered and tried to calm him down one more time.

Jesse saw his parents sitting on the front row followed by Richie and his wife Tori. Jon's brothers followed them with their wivies and children. On the other side Jesse saw Pauline's friends holding his sons who were wearing the same navy blue suit he was on. He smiled when they saw him and waved at them and blew them a kiss as they laughed. He knew she was getting closer, he could feel it in the air.

Suddenly music started echoing and Jesse stopped in a heartbeat whatever he was doing. He watched her bridesmaids were walking slowly down the hallway making their way on the other side to his right. They all smiled at him. Ava was the last to come and gave him a smile he coudn't forget. The wedding march was getting louder and louder just like Jesse's heartbeat.

A few feet away Pauline was holding her father when he turned to her and said "It's time Pauline!" she looked at him and together they start walking down the aisle. Everybody stood up and were watching them. Pauline was looking right and left all eyes were on them. She saw her sons sitting on her mother's lap wearing a matching suit just like Jesse. And then he locked eyes with Jesse who was looking something more than poetic in wedding suit. His hair were done in a different way than his usual but she loved it. That blue navy suit with a gray vest and tie was not close to what she was expecting to see him wear. Even though she had seen him a million times he had never looked so beatiful in her eyes.

Only feet away this time Jesse couldn't take his eyes of her. How could he? Her hair was done in light curls and were beind her ears. Her make up was simple enough to tone her hazel eyes and perfect shaped eyebrows of hers. A small neckless was resting on her neck with a small blue stone matching her earrings. He moved his eyes a bit to admire her wedding dress while they were walking sloser. A slightly sheer bodice is layered with organic French laces and bugle beading for a shimmering, floating effect throughout—reaching into the floating straps throughout the V-neckline for a gorgeous shape. The open V-back continues to showcase these floating lace details before joining together beneath fabric-covered buttons for a touch of classic detail. With gathered Parisian silk chiffon adding rich texture and decadence throughout the flowing skirt, the split in the side reveals your romantic side—while a soft, flowing train follows just behind to finish the look with a hint of drama and elegance.

Pauline and her father reached the altar and Jesse met them. "Take care of her Jess!" Costas said and gave Jesse a quick hug. When the broke it he gave her hand to him and made his way to his seat. "You look beautiful Paul!" were the only words he could speak at this momment. Her lips broke into a beautiful smile before she answered "You look gorgeous too Jess!" he smiled back and took her hand in the center of the altar where the priest was waitng for them. The music stoppped and every guest shut down to their seats.

The ceremony started but Pauline coudn't take her eyes of him. She thought her entire life she needed seas or mountains or magnificent city lights to be happy, truth is she didn't care where she was as long as she had him. And there he was standing tall right beside her listering very carefully to whatever the priest was saying but to her was just a backround noise and he was a masterpiece created by powers far beyond her imagination and probably from an another world. She looked at him one more time and looked at the priest again.

Jesse was watching her with the corner of his eye while he was trying hard to keep up with the priest's words but was too hard for him. All he wanted was to take her hand and leave to a place they could be together but alone just like the stars in the night sky. He loved her with every inch of his body and soul not for the way she danced with his angels but for the way the sound of her name could silence his demons.

"Since it is your intention to enter the covenant of Holy Matrimony, join your right hands, and declare your consent before God and his Church." finaly the priest said and brought the young couple back to reality. Pauline said Jesse turned to each other and joined their right hands.

Jesse shallowed hard and seconds later he spoke his vow "I Jesse James Louis Bongiovi take you Pauline Timson to be my wife. I promise to be true to you in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health. I will love you and honor you all the days of my life."

Looking deep into his eyes she knew that he meant every word but she also knew it was her time to say her own vows. "I Pauline Timson take you Jesse James Louis Bongiovi to be my lawful husband, to have you and to hold you from this day forward for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer in sickness and in health until death do us part." she said as she was trying to keep her voice steady and not ruin her mascara with the tears that soon followed.

After the exchange of the rings they both turned to the priest waiting for the last sentence. The priest looked at them and said the following. "In the sight of God and these witnesses i now pronounce you husbund and wife. You may kiss the bride." They wasted no time and kissed each other lips like it was for the first time. They turned to the guests who were clapping their hands and waving at them.

They were trying hard to fight the tears but they shouldn't hide them because they just got married and that was mattered the most. Soon enough Pauline and Jesse made their way down the aisle and got the congratulations from everybody. Starting from their maid of honor and best man. They both had that stupid smile on their faces but who could blame them?

As the time flew by all the guests were at the reception waiting for them to arrive. They knew this will take some time because Pauline had to feed the boys and take some photos for their wedding album but they were petient. The decoration was simple and yet it was what it should have been. Mostly white and some shades of mint green and peach were the colours they chose. Every table was round and in the middle was a glass of flowers and a lighted candle.

Jon looked at his phone waiting a text from Jesse. "Hey Johnny you got that text?" Richie asked him. "Nope, not yet! I have a weird feeling right now! It's like i'm nervous and i'm never nervous before playing!" Jon replied as he checked one more time his phone. "Yeah, because we had some alchool to have the adrenaline running!" Richie laughed. "Very funny Rich! Very funny!" Jon said sarcasticly. "Anyway, you know i drink anymore so i'll just get a soda, you want some?" Richie asked and took a step to where the bar was but Jon's phone buzzed and he stopped. "No time for that soda man! Let's do this!" Jon replied and put his phone on his pocket and looked at the other side of the room trying to find David, Tico and Hugh.

Seconds later Jon and Richie were walking to the band set. The rest of the band followed rapidly as they knew it was time. Richie put the guitar over his showlder as the rest of the guys took their places. Everything happened so quickly that roughly nobody notished them. Jon looked at Richie and then at Tico who clapped the drum sticks together and then David started the song with the first note. All guests were chatting with each other and some of them were eatting the appetizers but when they hard the music they stopped.

Jon started singing the first verse and most of them didn't recongize the song. Maria, Pauline's friend from Greece and one of the bridemaids knew from the first note the song but she had no idea that the band will play. A few feet away she saw Ava and run to her and asked "Why the band is playing?" Ava turned to her and laughed. "Well, they wanted it! Jesse picked the songs! So this means that they will come shortly for their fist dance." Ava simply answered as she was low singing the chorus. "I love this song!" she added shortly.

As the band continued playing to the song at some point halfway of the solo the married couple walked in holding hands. The ammount of joy that they were feeling was something new and unique. Smiling like kids in the candy store they made their way in the center of the dance floor. They faced each other and Jesse put his hands around her waist. "I didn't know you chose this song..." she said with low voice. "As your husband i know All about lovin' you is one of your favourite. And i also know you say you don't have any favourites but i've heard you singing it with a every chance you get." Jesse answered and kissed her cheek slowly while the songs was ending.

A few seconds of silence and Pauline looked at Jesse again who said "May i have this dance babe?" Pauline laughed lightly knowing that was about to happen even if she said no. But what power does she really has to say no? She met his gaze as David started playing the intro of their fist dance as a married couple. Soon enough the known guitar riff of Thank you for lovin' me echoed in the open and quite room.

Jesse looked at the hazel eyes of hers and knew deep inside his heart there is no other man happier than him at this very moment. They were slowly dancing while hugging each other. Her head was resting on his chest while she was singing the verse. The band was playing but she was singing back to him. The words came so naturally like she was writing the lyrics at these very seconds. Her heart was beating fast pressing the blood all over her body while a shiver went down on her spine. She was right where she was ment to be and that could not change.

Pauline lifted her head and took a look at his face. He was getting sweaty wearing a full suit in late July and in Hawaii. That sweet sweat was prarkling under the light and she was happy. The song nearly fisnished when Jesse took her hand and made her to take a turn. Once she was facing him again he untied his hands with hers in the air and kept them close. A few seconds later Pauline placed her hands on his neck while their eyes locked "I love you!" she spoke with trembling voice. Jesse smiled down at her and shallowed. "Thank you for loving me Paul!" were the only words that were running through his head the last couple of years and he was not afraid to admit them.

The song faded away while they were standing in the center of the dance floor hugging each other like they were alone and the truth is they were because all they ever wanted and needed was each other.

Chapter 32: This Is The Last Night

The sun had already rise above the hawaiian sky and it's rays where finding their way inside their hotel room as Pauline was already up and feeding her sons. She was sitting outside on the balcony enjoying the view from their room. They have booked the honeymoon suite even though that wasn't their honeymoon. That early summer breeze played with her hair as she was breastfeeding Kevin. She looked down at him. His eyes were wide and looking at her directly. He had wrapped his little fingers around his mother's index finger holding hard and not letting it go. He looked so peacufull and happy while he was getting what he needed at the moment.

Pauline was brushed lightly his small and yet beautiful little face thinking there was no other place in the world that she could be right now. In less than 30 hours she will be getting married to the man she wanted, loved and cared more than any other. All these seem like a dream she didn't want to stop having. Being here with her sons in her arms and her soon-to-be husband sound sleeping just a heartbeat away was something she had never thought she could have when she moved in New Jersey all those years back.

Checking the time on her phone it was time for her to stop and put Kevin into his basket next to his one minute older brother who was now sleeping with a full belly. All she had to do today was relax and enjoy the time she had left with her family and friends because tommorow their scedule was full.

"I think you're playing with my nipple here young man!" she said with low voice not wanting to wake up Jesse this early yet. With a very carefull move she placed Kevin in his basket and gave him a small toy that was on the table next to her for him to play.

Pauline got their baskets inside and slide the door behind her. She checked and PJ was still sleeping with his toy never leaving his hand. Kevin on the other hand was pretty awake and wanted attention from his mother. He was making noises so his mother will come and pick him us like she always did. With Kevin in her arms the 27 year old Pauline walked in the master bedroom.

Jesse was sleeping wearing his boxers. He was holding one of the pillows as he was facing the wall. "Let's wake up your Daddy!" she whispered in his ear and Kevin let an another scream of happiness as they were getting closer to the bed and he could recognize his father. Jesse like a light sleeper as he was heard the scream and turned his head to their direction. Pauline has already put Kevin on the other side of the bed. He was crawling from the one side of the bed to the other giving Jesse almost no time to turn fully around and embrase his son.

"Good morning to you little man!" he said with his sleepy voice and hugged Kevin. Pauline shut on her side of the bed and moved closer to them. "Good morning to you babe!" he said and kissed lightly. "Morning Jess!" she answered when they broke the kiss. "Where is PJ?" Jesse asked while he was looking around trying to spot him. "He's sound sleeping in his basket. And this guy is not getting tired. I just fed him." Pauline replied as she got more comfortable on the bed. "Well at least they didn't wake up in the middle of the night crying like yesterday." Jesse remind her. "That's true. Their sleeping scedule is kind a mess right now with all these going on." she said as she was now facing him.

"Yeah, you're right. When we'll be back home everything will get back to normal." he paused and moved closer to her watching where Kevin was first. "The new normal will be you being officially my wife." he kissed her again. She smiled and looked back at him getting lost looking in his eyes once more. Looking down to their little human being they created a matching pair of blue eyes looked at her and smiled back. "You know i can't wait Jess!!" she said back smiling. "I know, i know. But i also know that is getting late and i'm hungry. Let's go downstairs and get some food." he said and laughed. "Yeah, let's go. Maybe Kevin will fall asleep eventually like his brother." Pauline replied and got her arms around Kevin who was still trying to figure out how sheets work.

Once all four of them got dressed up they headed downstairs to the breakfast aerea. Being late July it was very croudy in the hotel lobby when they passed. "Mr Bongiovi! Miss Timson! Good morning!" they both heard and turned to the receptionist who called them. "Good morning! Is everything alright?" Jesse spoke fist. "Yes, everything is alright. We just wanted to let you know that the guests arrived early this morning and shettled in their rooms. They're staying to the hotel on the end of the road." the receprionist said leaving them both speachless. "What guests? Everyone is here already." Pauline spoke looking puzzled just like Jesse was.

"Mr Bongiovi and Mr Timson spoke with the general manager when you got here. You were lucky because this time of the year is difficult to fine accommodation in Hawaii. Here i printed the invoice for you with the extra 138 people." she said and passed Jesse the new invoice. Jesse took it in his hands and saw it to Pauline. "You said 138 guests?" Pauline asked back in shock. "Yes, I-I think you already knew. It's your wedding afterall." the receptionist answered while she looked at them both.

"Well, thank you for the information" Jesse said shortly after he folded the invoice and put it in his pocket. As they were walking away Pauline turned to Jesse and said "How much is it? I didn't see the number." "Don't worry about that babe. We need to get some answers first before i lose my tempet here and make a scene." Jesse answered as calmy as he could while people were walking by them. "I can't believe they did that without asking us first. Let's go get our answers!" Pauline answered. She was feeling left out on her won wedding. They both has agreed that they wanted a small and simple wedding.

Walking out of the elevator with the double stroller Pauline and Jesse passed the hotel rooms and find the rooms of their parents. Their rooms were next to each other and knoched the doors at the same time. "Coming...." Dorothea replied fast as she heard the knock. She opened the door and within a second Jesse walked right in looking for his Dad furious. Pauline followed with the strolled and Dorothea closed the door behind them.

Jesse found his Dad wearing his shirt but before he could say any words Jesse said "Dad what the fuck? We agreed on a small wedding! Who do you think you are to invite all these people without asking us first?" Jon looked back at him and said "Fuck! I told her not to tell you... it was a suprise. Costas and i thought it would be nice to have more people here. In Steph-".... he tried to finish but Jesse stopped him "That was different Dad. You both had no right to do such a thing!This is our wedding and we wanted it to do this our way!" he said pointing a finger at him. "Hey! Hey! Keep you voice down young man!" Jon answered back. "Like i said it was a pure act of love from fathers to their children" "You should had told us though Jon! That's a lot of people that we were not preparated for! Who did you invite really?" Pauline finally said looking at Jon "Well some friends and family. Some of them flew from Greece as well." Jon said as they heard a knock on the door. "Jesus Jon! The kids are right! Keep your voiced down!" Dorothea said as she walked away and went to answer the door.

Pauline's parentes stormed in the room "Is everything alright? We heard some yelling!" Pauline's father said as they walked in the bedroom follwed by Dorothea "Oh welcome! We have been waiting for you!" Pauline said with a raised voice. "Dad what were you thinking?" Costas looked at Jon and sighed "We wanted to suprise you guys! 30 guests its not enough for a proper wedding. You know Pauline in Greece we have biiig weddings and we thought it would be nice. We're sorry if that upset you but our intentions were good." "Of course and we are upset because you didn't respect our wishes to our wedding." Jesse added shortly after his father-in-law finished.

"There's nothing we can do to change that now! We have to deal with this!" Pauline said trying to stay as calm as possible. "Think how much fun we'll have! Our family are dying to meet Jesse i've told them so much about you two. We don't visit much like we should have and this is our chance to catch up with them." Costas said and looked at his daughter. "Dad, is done now! I warn you.... both" Pauline paused and looked at her father and then Jon "No more suprises! Is that understood?" Both nodded yes like kinds when they have been doing bad things. "Okay" Pauline said and smiled. "That doen't mean we forgive you. We'll talk about this again in Jersey." Jesse added quicky.

Several minutes later all of them were in the breakfast room eating, chatting and enjoying its other's company. Afterall they have known its other for a while now and even with the addition of Pauline's friends from Greece everyone had a great time.

"I think i'm dreaming." Maria whispered to Pauline in Greek. Pauline chuckled looking around everyone chatting "Yeah, i know it's a lot to take. But they are not always like that. They fight a lot. Especially that dynamic duo other there." Pauline said and pointed with her eyes Jon and Richie who were holding their grandsons. "Really?" Maria asnwered back suprised. "Of course! They are people just like us! They just happen to be famous but they are still human beings who make mistakes." "Something happend?" Maria asked and looked at Pauline. "Yes, but we will talk about it later!" she simply said. Maria nodded and checked on her daughter who was sitting right next to her eatting her cereal.

Hours later later Pauline walked in their room finding Jesse sitting on the chair of the balcony looking a piece of paper. She smiled as she thought that he might have been writting his vow on that piece of paper a strange feeling got her up in the stomack. Call it curiocity, impatience or just pure young love it's all the same and it' all true. Jesse as he heard her walking closer he quickly managed to fold that piece of paper  and put it in his pocket.

"Hiding somethings from he?" she asked as she put her hands on his torso from behind and kissed his cheek. "Me? Absolutely no!" he answered and and kissed her hand. "You know you should get going. It's bad luck looking at the bride before the wedding!" she said. "Oh come on! I don't believe in bad luck and neither you do!" "I know but let's do something tradditional for a change.Now go with the boys and have some fun!" Pauline said and as she sut nexto to him. "I will leave soon don't worry. I have to pick up the suit from the reception and make sure that everything is okay for tommorow." he paused and drunk a sip of his drink. "Have you talked with my Dad?" "No, why?" she answered back.

"I just want to know if they still want to play at the wedding." "Well, if they changed their minds don't you think they have told us already?" Pauline answered and looked at the ocean view. "Yeah, like the told us about the extra guests!" Jesse said back and laughed. "Yeah you're right!" she looked at him this time while he was taking a sip of his drink and looking at the view that was in front of them. She sighed. She could see that was not water or a soda. They have talked about this many time even with Richie and Tico, giving from their expiernce to help him make up his mind but it didn't always worked out fine.

She had notished a change in his behavior the past few months but she alwasy thought that was because he was stressed about the wedding and becoming a father. But now only 24 hours before the wedding he seemed lost in his thoughts again. She wanted to talk with him many times but whenever she had the chance she couldn't speak to words. Maybe that was her fault as well, she knew him very well and knew when he was unhappy or stressed and now he was both. But if he couldn't open up to her how would she be able to help him with whatever was bothering him.

She really didn't expect to have these kind of thoughts hours before the wedding. Jesse brought her back from her daydream by saying "I'll go the lobby to get my suit and then i'll go to my brother's room for the night like we said." Once he finished his sentene he stood up. "Everything will be perfect because you will be there tommorow." he started and took a step closer to where she was sitting. He placed both of this palms on her cheeks and met her lips for a sweet kiss. "Know that i love you, that i have always loved you in ways that go without saying, in seasons that tease you to give up, at your worst, at my worst. I love you Paul, i have never needed a reason. Simply your existenve is reason enough." he almost whispered not wanting anyone else to here this, only her even though the room was empty.

He kissed her one more time as he made his way to the door but he stopped when she finally spoke "Jess?" he turned and faced her. All the lights were off the only light that was getting in the room was the Moon's playing a beatiful game with her eyes and skin not knowing who was going to win. "Are you okay?" she said with a broken voice as a single tear came from her eye burning her cheek. He walked closely and notished that tear racing her cheek. He placed his thumb and whiped it out carefully.

"Oh Paul! Please don't cry! I have everything i need here in front of my right now. I'm just a little emotional that's all." he was looking in her hazel eyes the intire time and his heart was skipping several beats at that time. "Okay..." she aswered simply again. He kissed her forhead and made his way back to the door opened it and closed it behind him leaving Pauline standing there in the dark.

Jesse walked down the long hallway whipping off his own tears. Hell, he wanted to speak with her so badly but it was not the right time. He checked his phone and entered the elevator. That few seconds gave him the time he needed to calm his racing hearteat down. Taking a deep breath he stepped outside of the elevator and headed to the reception desk.

"Hello, I'm Jesse Bongiovi. I'd like to speak with your manager please." he said to the man standing in front of him. "Is everything alright Sir? You having any trouble with our services?" the man asked back worried. "No, no everything is fine. I just need to ask something." Jesse said. "Alright then. Wait here please. I'll go inform her. Be back in a sec." the man said and vanised to a small wooden door behind him.

These seconds felt like months to Jesse who was nervous. How could he say to the manager of the hotel they booked for their wedding that he had financial problems? With the extra guests that arrived this day and with all the other costs he paid for money were tight. Of course both his and Pauline's parents helped a lot with the expenses but unfortunately that was not enough. He got fired from the Norte Dame football team about three months ago and kept it a secret from everyone. He didn't had the courage to tell them, especially Pauline. Being herself unemployed because of her pregnancy his income was the only one this their family. Of course he was too proud to ask his father money not because he would have said no but because he wasn't 15 anymore.

With all these thoughts running through his head was kinda lost when the receptionist got back with the manager. "Good evening mr Bongiovi shall we discuss this in my office?" a woman around her 40's asked Jesse was now nervous more than ever and his palms were getting sweatty. "Sure, lead the way!" he asnwered when he found his voice.

After the chat he had with the manager turnes out that the bill was paid by this father who didn't a said a word to him. He was relieved that was for sure but also he was worried that he might had figure out that he was fired. He didn't want to deal with this right now but also he didn't want to sleep he was too awake now. He bought a a bottle of rose wine and headed to the beach in front of the hotel to clear his head.

Passing by strangers he stepped his feet in the cold sand and looked at the ocean. He took a deep breath and hold it for a few seconds so he could hear his own heartbeat dispite of the sound that the water made when it crashed the sand. With a much neeed exheal he felt alive. Opened up the bottle he bought earlier he took a sip. That should have tasted better he thought. He started walking to his left. He passed by the side entrance of the hotel but that didn't stopped him from keep going. With that bottle of wine half full and half empty he saw two men sitting on the sand smocking. He knew them very well even though the light was poor at the moment.

"Hey Jess what are you doing here?" Jon asked him looking supprised to see him as Richie was. "I was trying to relax. You know with everything going on these days!" Jesse answered simply as he was trying to hide the bottle of wine. "What's that you're holding?" Richie said trying to figure it out on his own. Jesse tried to play innocent here but he got betrayed by the light of the moon. "What are you doing here in the middle of night?" Jesse tried to change the subject. "Well, we wanted to get away for a few hours." Jon said as he blew out the smock making crazy shapes that vanished by the late night breeze.

"You know whatever is you and Pauline are dealling with that is not the answer." Richie said as he finished his own cigarette and put it out in the sand. "Been there, done that. If you go down that road there no turing back Jess! You're way too young and smart to make the same mistake like me and Teek did back then." he paused and looked back at him. "Talk to her son. She has the power to help you trust me."

"I will Richie. I will!" Jesse answered with a sigh that followed the words he said. "You still wanna play at the wedding?" he asked seconds later. "Of course and we will play tommorow! It will be nice and we know the songs." Richie answered first. "You wrote these songs!" Jesse said and laughed. "We know but we're not invited to weddings often to perform them. Plus Ava will do a live thing on Instagram i'm not sure..." Jon replied "Oh great!" Jesse said back sarcastically.

"Hey Dad can i talk to you for a sec?It's important." he said again quickly not leaving time to Jon to comment on the things he just heard. "Whatever you want to say you can say it in front of Richie. We don't keep secrets from each other like others." Jon slapped back at his son. He had no idea what his son was dealing with.

"Okay then..." Jesse started and sut next to them. Taking a deep breath he continued "Why did you pay the hotel bill?" he turned to him and met his gaze. Jon inhaled the smocke and let it out as he answered "We know you got fired from Notre Dame. And i know you couldn't ask for a dollar i wanted to help you. Pauline's Dad payed the other half." "So, they know too?" Jesse asked and took a sip of the wine. "No, just the three of us. I coudn't tell your mother and of course Pauline who i'm sure has no idea." Jon replied and took an another inhale of the cigarette.

"How do you know? How long?" Jesse asked confused and suprised. "Me and Rich were in New York and saw your coach and told us everything." Jon stated. "Look Jess, that's a lot to take but you must have a talk with her. I'm not here to yell at you as i should for keeping this a secret but you're old enough now. Just do the right think." Jon finished.

"We all know what happend the last time you hid something from her and apart from that she has the right to know what the fuck is going on." Richie spoke as the lit an another cigarette. "You made that mistake once. This time it's a choice." "Fuck! I know, i just don't to hurt her again. She's so fucking happy for tommorow and i'm sitting here with you drinking a not so good wine. What's wrong with me?" Jesse answered as the tears followed quickly.

"Listen to me! There is not a fucking thing wrong with you Jess!" Jon said to his son. "Then why i i'm not just as happy as she is?" Jesse asked them both. "Because you're afraid of change just like your Dad! You love progress but you hate change. And this is a change." Richie jumped in "I'm not talking about the wedding. You have two beatiful sons and their mother adores you. And that's progress not change. Sure having two babies is a blessing yow know. You just need to slow down and relax." Richie finished.

"Here give me that!" Richie said a few seconds later with the cigarette resting on his lips. Jesse handed him the almost empty bottle of wine and saw Richie purring the rest of it into the dry sand. "Promise me Jess that you'll talk to her okay?" Jon asked his oldest son. Jesse nodded yes silently. "Good!" Jon answered as he looked over at Richie who had a small smile on his face both knowing that they did the right thing here. The three of them were sitting there watching how the moon was shining making a perfect reflection to the hawaiin waters.
