Chapter 31: With A Little Help From My Friends

Jesse was trying to find a free space to park the car on the parking lot of the airport. It was only 10 am on 20th of July and the parking lot was filled with cars. "Great! We will never find a spot." Jesse said and he was looking very carefully. "Here babe! On you right!" Pauline said and pointed the empty spot.

"How do you do that?" Jesse ansewered as he was trying to park the car. Just a few seconds later the car was parked and locked. Pauline was puhing the stroller with PJ and Kevin. They seemed a little lost looking all those cars. An airplane just took off and they both were looking at it very close. Being only ten months months old and they're going to have the their first flight ever. They couldn't undertsand it but their parents were sure they'll get a little scared.

"Where is everybody?" Jesse asked when they arrived at the point of the meetting they had al agreed a couple days ago. "I can see Joker coming." Pauline said and looked at the other direction that Jesse was looking. "How can you see him? I can't even see their shape!" Jesse looked at her. "You know i have a great vision. Plus, i could recognize those curles anywhere!" Pauline answered and smiled.

"Why are you nervous?" Pauline asked him. He was tapping his left foot all the time. She knew he was nervous. "It's about the trip or because we're getting married in 3 days?" she moved closer and put hers arms around his waist as she looked him in the eyes. "A little bit of both. Do you think PJ and Kevin will be alright during the flight?" Jesse looked down at her.

"I think so. They look exited looking all those airplanes. And they will not be alone. I'm sure Benjamin will be a great company." Pauline answered. "Yeah, you're right." Jesse said and looked away to see were their fami;y and friends were. A large wave of 25 people was walking towards them. Just a few minutes later they were finding their spot on the biggest Bon Jovi jet ever. They never regrate how big it was and sinve their 'family' was getting bigger and bigger a huge Jet is the best solution.

"Where are the cars?" Jacob asked his bigger brother. They were waiting for 30 minutes now the five cars that Pauline and Jesse had rent for their stay. "They'll be there any minute Jake. You want to go to the hotel so badly?" Jesse asked him. "Yeah, we're in Hawaii bro let's see what has to offer." was his answer. "Jacob you will not see many from its offers to be honest. Is just for the wedding." Jesse answered and before he knew it the cars were there.

Once their suitaces were on the car they got comfortable on the cars and enjoyied the 20 minute drive next to the beach to the hotel. While they were getting closer the could see the masive building of the hotel they picked up over the horizon. Jesse looked on the back seat from the mirror. PJ and Kevin were sleeping. "They were very quiet during the flight." Zeta almost whispered. She was sitting in the middle of them and waking them up was the last thing she wanted to do.

"Thank God! Five hours of peace..." Pauline answered fom the front seat and let her righthand outside of the window. The car was running fast enough and the Hawaiin wind danced with Pauline's hand. "I hope they'll be quiet tomorrow too." Jesse said. "They'll be fine. When they'll see the sand and the water they'll forget everything." Pauline answered. She knew they both loved playing on the water, having a pool on the house helped a lot.

"Yeah you're right about that. When Melina is cming?" Zeta asked from the backseat almost whispering. "She lands at 6.00 and i'll go to pick them up." Pauline answered. "Them? I thought she's coming alone." "I couldn't invite her boyfriend that will be veru bad of me." Pauline said. "True." Zeta paused for a second and looked at the her left. The beach was right there waiting for them. "Man, i can't believe we're in Hawaii and you too are getting married." Zeta added a couple seconds ago.

"That was going to happen sooner or later." Jesse answered and took a turn on the right when he saw the sign of the hotel. "I think it will be one of the best weddings ever. And since the band will play Always for your wedding song that gives you more points." Zeta answered. "They wanted it and i couldn't say no." Pauline answered. "Pauline you never say no to anyone, you should check this!" Zeta answered and smiled.

Pauline took the car keys on her hands and walked out of the room. The boyw were taking their afternoon nap and Jesse was watching football next to them on the king size bed of the hotel room. She only walked a few steps and knocked the door next to them. She was looking around the decor of the corridor when Alex opened the door. "Oh bride come in!" he said smiled. Pauline raised her eyebrows and asked "Bride?" "You're getting married in 3 days in case your forgot." Alex answered as he closed the door.

"No, i didn't. Where is your wife?" Pauline asked him and before Alex tried to answer Ava walked in holding Benjamin. "I'm right here mrs future Bongiovi. Hold him a sec to wear my shoes." Ava walked in front of Pauline and before she even know it she was holding Benjamin. He was a big boy now. He'll has his first birthday on the first days of August. His big green eyes were looking her in the eyes and he was smiling. "What is it Benjamin? Why you are not smiling to me like that?" Alex complained from the back.

"Because you don't knew a thing. That's why. Jesse knew the tricks you should take this young man and go nextdoors. He's watching football, as always." "That's a very nice idea bride." Alex answered and took Benjamin in his arms. "Tell Ava we'll be in your room." he added before he opened the door and left.

"Ready to go mrs Wilson? I don't want to see Melina getting mad because you couldn't wear your shoes fast." Pauline said and turned to where Ava was standing. "Oh come on! You should relax a little. We're in fucking Hawaii and you're getting married in 3 days." Ava answered and opened the door. "That's the reason i can't relax, Ava. There are so many little things to take care of before the wedding. Plus, we have the kids too." Pauline answered as they were walking to the elevator.

The doors opened and both of them walked in. "Look, i understnd how you're feelling, i was nervous too remember?" Ava answered and pushed to botton. "I remember. But you got married in New Jersey and you didn't have two kids." Pauline answered back. "True. You should let the assistant do her job and try to enjoy it, okay?" she looked at the bride. "Okay." Pauline answered and smiled.

A couple minutes later Pauline and Ava were waiting at the aiport of Hawaii. Pauline was halding a paper on which she had wrote 'Maid of honor and her man'. Writting down their names was too cold for her. She had known her so many years and she's her maid of honor and she deserved a better nickname. "Why does this taking so long?" Ava asked at some point. "She would probably lost her suitcase. She had lost 4 until now. At least she doesn't have my wedding dress." Pauline answered.

"Yeah, i'm sure Stephanie is taking care of that. Let's hope Stevie didn't draw a house on it." Ava joked. "Yeah yeah! Very funny Ava. I should had take you with me." "Oh come on! You know you can't live without me!" Ava answered back. "I live without your jokes though." Pauline laughed. She turned her look to where the crowd of people was coming. She was scanning faces trying to spot Melina on the people.

And when she did she raised the paper she was holding. Melina and Roberto were walking hand-in-hand when Melina saw Pauline and Ava. She couldn't help herself and laughed so hard when she read what she had wrote on the paper. "Maid of honor and her man welcome to Hawaii!" Pauline said with a smile brighter than the stars when they stopped in front of them. The bride and the maid of honor opened their arms and hugged each other close.

"Come on let's go back to the hotel. We have so many things to talk about." Pauline said when she broke up the hug with Melina.

"Hey Stevie don't go too far okay?" Stephanie told her son while she put putting on his some suncream. "Okay Mum." was his sort answer and run as fast as he could in order to get away from his mother and swimm in the waters of Hawaii. "Braca yourselves ladies. the worse are coming. You think you had seen them? Not." Stephanie said and looked to Pauline and Ava who were sitting next to her. "Well, at least let's hope our husbands will do some work too." Ava said.

Stephanie laughed. "Of course not! Somethings Mark is acting worse than Stevie and i have to babysit two kids instead of one." all the three of them laughed. "Alex is helping. Well as much as he can." Ava said. "Jesse too. Sometimes when he doesn't have a trainning or a game." Pauline spoke. "But you have trainnings too." Ava said and looked at her. "We both have and that make things a little harder." "It's only 3 more years then they can go to kindergarden. That could help a lot. Trust me." Stephanie said from the other side. Stevie is 6 years old now and she knows how they must feel.

"Yeah, 3 more years." Ava said and looked at the beach to where their whole family was, well almost their whole family. Pauline checked the time on her phone. "Oh shit! I gotta go!" she screamed and with a rapid move she stood up. "Where are you going?" Stephanie asked surprised. "I have to pick up a friend from the aiport." Pauline answered and took the phone. "Oh right Maria is coming today." Ava said. "That's right. I need to pick them up." "Them?" Stephanie asked back. "She is married and has a daughter same age as Stevie." Pauline answered.

"That's nice. They could spend some time together." Stephanie said. "You're forgetting one thing Steph. I don't think Stevie knows how to talk in Greek." Pauline said and waited Stephanie's reaction. "Oh yeah! You're Greek. Why i am always forgetting that?" "Who knows?" Ava jumped in. "Okay, i'm leaving! See you at lunch. Bye!" Pauline said and walked away.

A couple of minutes later she locked the door of her room and walked to the elevator but she stopped when she saw Richie getting out of his room too. "Hey Angel what are you doing up here?" he asked and walked next to her. "I'm going to the airport. A friend of mine is coming for the wedding and i need to pick them up." Pauline answered. "Can i come with you?" he asked and looked her in the eyes. "Yeah, sure." she answered smiling. She didn't mind at having him with her. Plus she was dying to see her Darksider best friend will react when he'll see him in the airport.

"Does Tori wants to come too?" she asked as she stopped in front of the elevator. "No, she has a headake. I wasn't planning coming with you but since she didn't want to have sex with me, i must do something." Richie answered simply as that. As they walked in Pauline slowly turned her head and looked at him. "Why are you looking at me like that? You know old people still want to have sex with their wives. Is not a bad thing." Richie said and pushed the ground level botton. "I know is not a bad thing. I was just didn't expecting you to say something like that to me, that's all. Is kinda of personal, don't you think?" she looked at him.

"You are a part of the family now. And i know you like 8 years now? We're friends aren't we?" "Yeah, i think we are." she answered and smiled. "You know how to drive to the airport, right?" Richie asked her before he opened the car door. "Of course and i know uncle Mook! Get in the car we're going to be late." Pauline answered and got in the driver's seat. "How did you just called me?" Richie asked when he sut next to her. "I'm going to marry one of Jon's kids how do you think i'll call you?" Pauline answered and drove away. "Yeah, i can handle one more person calling me uncle Mook." Richie answered.

Minutes later Pauline and Richie were waiting in the Arrivals erea. They were watching people walking by. "I don't think many people will recognase you here." Pauline told him as she was trying to spot herfriend's family. "Don't be so sure. Why do you think i'm wearing sunglasses inside the airport." Richie answered and looked at the large crowd. "Someone might recogrnase you too. You're the MVP and volleyball it's famous here in Hawaii more than football or basketball." he added seconds later. "I don't think i'm that famous, Richie." she answered and looked at him. "I'm sure one day you'll be." Pauline laughed. "You're way too much optimist but thank you."

"There are here! I can see them! Ready to meet the most die hard fans of yours?" she told him. Richie smiled. "I'm always ready to meet my fans." "Good. Remember the greek i teached you in the car?" Pauline asked him while they were walking towords them. "Yes, i think i do." Richie answered. "Then you'll do the talking." "You gotta be kiding me." Richie looked at her with his eyes wide open. "Just a little. They both know english but i'm not really sure if they could remember any after seeing you." Pauline answered and stopped when she saw Maria's family. They were sitting in the waiting room looking around at the airport. Pauline smiled when Sophia, their daughter, looked to where she and Richie were standing.

Her eyes opened wide and she told something to her parents but they were too far and they couldn't hear it. "That's them?" Richie asked and pointed them out with his eyes. "Yeah, that's them. Maria, Nick and Sophia." Pauline answered as she saw Maria and Nick slowly turning at their side. Their jaws fel when they saw Richie standing next to Pauline looking at them. Sophia had already made her way to them with her suitacase. "Sohpia welcome to Hawaii!" Pauline said in greek  and went to her kneeks to hug the little girl. Once Pauline hugged Sophia her parents were already there. "Hi, welcome to Hawaii." Richie said, or tried to sound like Pauline, and shaked both their hands.

"Thank you." Nick answered after a long pause. Pauline was keeping a close eye on them. She couldn't blame them she was feeling the same way when he met him 8 years ago. "Come on guys we should get going. I left my boys with Jesse and we all know that's not a good thing." she said in order to break the ice as much as she could. And from what it seems she did a great job.
